make curor buff consistent like the Atma buff please

Now this is actually something I can agree with. Either lose both cruor and atma buffs, or none of them. Not saying it's a major problem that needs fixing, but yeah it really doesn't make any sense as it is now.

This could be a technical issue rather than logical decision.
Agreed with Hardcore, SE should look into this. No one wants to loose connection as well as 470 curor point.

I'd like to know the answer to this question aswell. Maybe they just not have had time to fix it.
Losing 470 cruor is nothing. Open one blue cruor chest with decent cruor inside and you'll earn over double what you lost.
However, it is annoying to have to run back to the start to get buffs again. I'd like to see this fixed too.

Would be nice to not lose curor buffs. As much as it pains me to agree with op, while your at it make "all curor buffs" 1 icon, 10 seperate icons is messy.

I always found this to be kind of strange. Most other buffs survive a disconnect.

This is correct.
There is a difference between Atma buffs and Cruor buffs.
Atma buffs are the same level when you put it on. 100% of the time its +XX stats. All the system has to do is read which atmas were on when you were disconnected.
Cruor buffs, however, are affected by certain abyssites. Depending on the number of furtherance and merit abyssites you have, cruor buffs can be affected in many different values. When the system logs on, it doesn't automatically have the number (or type) of key items straight from the server, so cruor buffs would be at the absolute minimum level if they were able to keep it from an accidental DC. So the player, if they want to get the maximum buffs possible, would still have to run off and "refresh" their buffs. Except one problem though. You can't "delete" your cruor buffs. You have to zone out to get them to wear. So it came down to two choices for SE, let cruor buffs "wear" from a DC but keep lights, or make cruor buffs at minimum level for players who DC'd and reconnected. Either way, a DC greatly affects a player.
So this is a technical issue more than a logical issue.
Otherwise posting on a troll thread.

Or they could, you know, store a variable on the server with your current level of buffs when you get them. Like they, I don't know, store the rest of your character data (including atmas). You're not getting atma of the razed ruins, you're getting HP/MP level 4, Stats Level 3, etc. Just a thought.
If they seriously programmed the stat boosts as you described, it's pretty bad coding... but I wouldn't put it past 'em.

Sounds good in theory but sometimes it's nice to be able to cancel certain buffs (like HP).
Cruor buffs, however, are affected by certain abyssites. Depending on the number of furtherance and merit abyssites you have, cruor buffs can be affected in many different values. I'm not convinced that's entirely the case. For one, you actually can cancel cruor buffs, only they're instantly reapplied. You do notice the effect though, cancel your HP, and suddenly you'll go yellow. So, somehow the game needs to know how to reapply it. And I doubt that information is stored clientside, otherwise people could abuse that to infinity (almost literally). So that information must be present somewhere on the server.
Why isn't it reapplied? I don't know, my best guess is that that information is wiped when you d/c. I think it has to do with zoning. Some buffs are simply erased when zoning (like Songs) others stay up (like Food). Cruor buffs simply may fall in the first category, Atma in the second. When you zone out of Abyssea you also see all your Cruor buffs disappear (it shows even in the chatlog), Atma don't though. I'm pretty sure that's what happens when you d/c as well. Why? No idea.
One could argue it has to do with static/variable information, like you said, but that doesn't explain why Shellra/Protectra V last when zoning, since the effectiveness of those does depend on the caster. I really can't explain it, other than "some buffs go, others don't".

If you are getting bummed from connection issues that leave you high and dry without those mind and muscle boosting cruor enhancements when you return, have no fear! The development team is planning to make adjustments so that these are not lost even if you get disconnected. However, since this type of system change requires a good deal of time to test out and verify, it will be taking place in a future version update.

I'd love to see an explanation as to why this is even remotely difficult to implement.
You already keep Atma active, how is it harder to do it with these simple buffs?
I never understood that, but I guess FFXI has some spaghetti code.

They can't, not in Abyssea.
Time is still an issue. Why would anyone fake DC in Abyssea when they would lose not only all the time saved up, but also the stones they used to get that time.

which version update will it be?
Wonders at the complexity of this because you dont have to get all buffs. You can chose which buffs you take. I would like to think 99.9% of us take all of them and could be fixed. What if you dont take all of them, how could it be managed?

Aren't the cruor buffs basically the same kind of buffs you can get from boosts like Fenrir and STR Potion? That may be the reason why it's so difficult and not planned until later. It probably won't be this major version update, but the one in August/September if we're lucky.

Keys cost 500cr each. You only get 1000cr from each Blue chest... When your lights are up. You're spending 500cr to get 500cr back... profit!?
Edit: Someone else will open the chest, Now that's profit. Might not be anymore after knowing this.

The buffs disappear because they are constantly expiring and auto-reapplying. You can manually remove one and it will reappear immediately. But when ALL of them are removed at the same time, they cannot auto-reapply. Some mobs do this to you, as will disconnects. It momentarily interrupts the auto-reapply, which causes the buffs to fade and not return.
Just a guess, but it might be done this way due to some normal enemies stealing these buffs. If they made the buffs not expire fast while in abyssea, these mobs would become a problem very fast.. perhaps even for random passerby's.

Didnt you get the memo? They dislike Abyssea and don't wanna do anything to it anymore, I doubt they will ever do this now.
Also yeah the reason it worked the way it did was because it was a buff like refresh/haste or whatever. They did it that way so mobs can remove it, Dc always makes you lose all buffs.
