View Full Version : Barrage Turbine and TP

Last I checked, the Barrage Turbine doesn't seem to actually dish out multiple hits, or else the puppet would gain, say, more than 12 TP per barrage. This isn't the case.
Bug? Intentional? Here's hoping that, on a 90 second timer, this gets adjusted.

it may not be barrage as we know it, it could just be multiplyer on ranged shot. That is my guess.

was using it all weekend, seems to do 2.5-3x damage of what a regular shot does (with 1 wind up). I wasn't tracking TP, so wasn't aware of the issue. The good news is that despite my underlevelled range skill the Barrage never missed. I did receive 2 seperate skill-ups off a single barrage tho'. Seems a bit different that Rng Barrage, I don't know that the 1st hit has to connect for the others to have a chance.

I need to test it more, but from the looks of eyeballing yesterday.
Barrage:
1-3 arrows at level 90, with average being all 3 hit.
My regular range attack damage is around 450 when i go vv/sa/rr, and I never saw a barage for more then ~1400

didn't they say they were going to change it so that on this attachment and heat cap didnt eat manuevers?
I was trying heat cap and its really handy to grab a quick 80 tp before fight, but durign fight it sucks. I find it goes well with VE

I only saw that the heat one was being changed, far as I know this will continue to eat manuvers

The way I see this attachment working is the TP gain is like a Weapon Skill. 10TP for the first hit and 1TP for each extra. It's obvious it hits multiple times, because you can get multiple skill ups off it.

Yeah, I noticed that. It's unfortunate that SE isn't giving us full TP for a barrage move that consumes all wind maneuvers.
On the bright side, it does dish out massive damage. Good addition to a DD sharpshot.

Just thought I'd also add this, Barrage gives ruby light in abyssea. Strangely enough so does Ranged Attack. Square-Enix sucks :(

Automaton ranged attacks (both regular and barrage) are job abilities, and damaging JAs make ruby light in abyssea.
Initially, Sharpshot automatons under effect of Amnesia couldn't even use ranged attacks, but this was changed so automaton RAJA does not check for the status effect.
I do feel that Barrage Turbine should not consume Wind Maneuvers, because it often leads to using the wrong weaponskill (Arcuballista or Daze instead of Armor Shatterer).

Jump makes pearl and I'm pretty sure Quick Draw does too

Yep, the maneuver consumption is very annoying. Got Arcu multiple times last night in a 2 hour Dynamis - Xarc run. At least I got weakness proc with Arcuballista once ;P
Can't understand why they didn't just make Barrage Turbine rely on # of wind maneuvers for strength, with a hidden JA timer (think more Flashbulb and Shock Absorber, less Economizer and Eraser).

first I thought this change is in the works for patch. But they really need to do that with eraser too, i find that very annoying it erases light man. It makes it so you can't use the attachment on whm head. uses eraser, takes off something on you are puppet, light man gone, he silences the crab, you die.

well, whm AI you're lucky if you live anyway, but I see your point. I just got armor shatterer last night, sweet WS. I'm wondering if I was just lucky, but I never had issues with not doing it. I looked it up and didn't use any of the conflicting manuvers, but even so my Auto would WS>>Barrage, never stripping the Wind until it used the TP if it was close to 100%. The only time it didn't use it is if I used a WS, since I had inhibitor on so it would Stringing Pummel>>Daze>>Fusion. Since we were soloing Soulflayers and I would use that to stun Thundaga III as an example I'm not complaining...
