Recast: 30 seconds
Effect Duration: 15 seconds
Special Notes:
When a monster is first Goaded, the effect of Goad cannot be placed on it again until 30 seconds have passed
Description:
Forces a monster to attack you for 15 seconds regardless of Enmity. The monster gains a +50% damage resistance against the Paladin but suffers a -10% damage resistance from all other sources

the hate problem is already because pld cant deal dmg. reducing dmg further would only push you further off the hate list.
more defensive abilities allowing you to use better DD atmas would help pld's in abyssea the most. maybe a samba-type move decreasing hate for other members attacking.

Sounds way overpowered to me. Letting the Paladin easily hold threat 50% of the time just by spamming one more every 30 seconds is a little much.
Maybe giving paladin a Flash2 or something liek taht would be a better route to go.

There is no hate problem if the monster is forced to attack the PLD for 15 seconds regardless of enmity

There are other jobs that can tank besides pld, giving pld an ability like this would create magor hate issues for other tank jobs since all jobs can reach the hate cap, plds hate issues only affect them inside abyssea when we're at 99 and all content is outside abyssea they won't have such an issue. Monks definatly won't be the best choice outside abyssea for linkshells only reason they ever tanked before abyssea was due to how salvage works, leaving only three jobs that can tank effectivaly outside being Blue Mage, Paladin, and Ninja.

FF13 has some interesting ideas for a Paladin update:
*Challenge--I could see S-E giving Paladins this type of ability, but it needs to be a superior alternative to Provoke (i.e. greater enmity generation AND not subject to loss) and exclusive to the main job.
*Mediguard--A Regen-type JA would be great if it also offset enmity loss while in effect.
*Vendetta--A countering JA (or, better still, JT) would be quite valuable to Paladins if the damage is right.

Again this is going back to every other thread about PLD. Why are you are all obsessed with having a hate lock on your PLD? You don't want a hate lock. Say your fighting an NM and you get it to like 20%, and I run over and cure bomb you and pop this ability and lock hate onto me and steal your mob. This and other issues exist with any kind of ability like that. Guys seriously get off the hate lock abilities........
Go read my suggestion for PLD if you want to see adjustments that would benefit more and explain more of real situations.

You can't use the ability to steal an NM since the NM is purple. You would simply get an "You cannot attack that target."

Sure you can. people used to steal Despot the same way in sky years ago by cure bombing the tank then popping invincible and running off till it turned yellow. Then voke and mob is yours. Why do all of you have such a fixation on hate lock? Are you guys just bad at PLD that you can't hold hate?

There's /blockaid now for non-alliance cures. Also please do blame the people who takes mobs like that in addition to the PLD, cuz it takes two to tango (one to be the PLD who allows the mob to go yellow in the 1st place, and the 2nd to be taking the mobs away from said PLD).
