View Full Version : People rolling seals for alts
Does anyone find it annoying that people roll stuff for alts?
Joined a pick up group for hand seals in Uleguerand range. This one guy kept rolling stuff for his alt because he said he could send it. Keep in mind that its of no use to his character that hes currently on, he was rolling stuff for that character as well.
Honestly people shouldn't be able to send seals and +2 items since people have become even more greedy in pick up groups and roll everything.
You can't send +2 items.
Set up a lotting priority before you start. each person picks what they will lot on. Then people with alts have to choose to get a seal for the current character or the alt. If that isn't fair enough for you, then don't join the group. If it's free lot seals, who cares?

Yeah, common courtesy would dictate that youd only roll on stuff for your alt if nobody else wanted it.

Why? What difference does it make to you if someone wants to lot x seal for their character or if they want to lot x seal for another character? The end result is one person lotting it. It makes no difference which character it happens to be on.

I have an alt with an Almace. Nothing wrong with lotting with alts these days when people dualbox practically everything. The only rude thing I can think of is lotting the same thing twice with both characters so you can send it to your main and basically have twice the chance at winning, that's just annoying.

Reading is hard.

I'm pretty sure I sent some +2 items to a mule. Unless they changed it and they're stuck there now.

so...? Not sure what your point is. Would he have been allowed to lot if he needed it for the character he was on? If so, he should be able to lot for another character.

Doesn't bug me as much as the term "Rolling" >___>. Guess I'm just not D&D Enough to get why people use that term when theres no visible dice or rolling involved in any way /nerdrage.
moving on, That being said, If their alt is helping me fight, and participating, and is used, I don't care one bit. Now if it was just some random mule they never play and just kinda "have" there for no reason... It might make me a little upset, but not by much.

Well it sounds like he was lotting on one set of seals for his main, and one for his mule. If nobody needs the 2nd seals then fine. If he's lotting against someone else in the party to get them then uh, no thanks. Certainly for pick up groups anyway.
Does that make it any clearer?

Like i said, as long as it would have been allowable if he wanted both sets of seals for a single character, then it should be allowed if he wants them for two different characters. I do not know what particular lotting rules were being used by the OPs group, and neither do you, so any further discussion on that particular case is going to be fairly mute.

The leader makes the rules. If you're in a pick up group, tell them in advance how it's going to work. If you think they shouldn't be able to lot, make it clear, if they have a problem with that, don't let them join.

Christ, people will really complain about everything.
Seeing the track record SE seems to have on this forum with giving in to the loudest complainers, my only hope is that if SE changes this, they give me enough warning to get the seals from my mules so I can send them back to my main.
Honestly, the more I read on these forums, the more I come to absolutely despise the playerbase.
SE gives people a sort of workaround for useless seals exchange and people STILL complain.
