I'm really happy about this. I'd love to see this further enhanced in the future with some form of storage space accessible by all the characters on the same account, maybe like the bank vaults in old dragon warrior(dragon quest) games.

I hope it means i can send my homam i no longer use on my hume drk and thf to my mithra to use on her pld, and virtue stones too. And my mithra's byakko's haidates to my hume for ninjer. Just hope this doesn't have a limited list of items since I'm a crazy one who leveled two characters on the same account with multiple 90s.

Really diggin' this proposal. Being able to send Rare/Ex stuff I got on my main character that I don't have much use for to my alt that can get good use out of it... very pleasing to think about. Would also make taking on those high level NMs that drop low level gear solo a bit more worthwhile. :o

only thing better would be to be able to send the ex gear from inside your mog house

This is a good idea.
Which is exactly why they're doing it. This is old news. :p

Can we send it within SquareEnix Accounts?

Celedh
03-31-2011, 12:28 PM
Wonder if it will be within the account, or linked through SquareEnix accounts. Probably the first option.

Someone made the mention that this might allow trading seals for example. That'd be truly useful only if it was on the SquareEnix account for mule accounts.

Alhanelem

unlikely. most likely just your POL account.

Neika

I believe it is only for characters on the same POL account, however I would love to see this work for characters on the same SE account. My boyfriend has gear I would love to use on my character and I have gear on mine he would love to use too.

Darn, I'll have to re-read it, thought it was ex and rare/ex. if its only ex thats gonna make me :(

Wait... rare items are tradable aren't they? but you can only hold one....so rare/ex items should still work with this :D

rare items are already tradable/mulable for the most part.

ex was the thing holding us back

rare/ex not rare or ex
Rare/ex isn't a special label.

It's just an item that happens to be both. Even being on the same item, they function independently of one another.

The EX part of rare/ex is the only thing stopping you from sending it. The RARE part of that has 0 to do with the item being tradable or not. It only has to do with how many of them you can hold.

Any piece of gear that has an EX label.

Rare has 0 to do with it.

There is not a rare/ex label.

Rare and ex are separate labels, on the same item.

If you can't send an item it is because of the EX label.

This will make it to where you can send items w/ an EX label.

EX items have EX labels.

Rare/ex items have EX labels.

You will be able to send them both.

They didn't say anything about the word RARE because RARE has absolutely nothing to do with it and is a separate issue all together.

It's not a difficult concept.

I do not care about player theory I am very literal, if they do not state rare/ex as op or in the original note I will question if you can. I do not care for logic telling you should be able to.

Enlightenment does not even do what it says so.. yeah I am specific.

Wow do you shit up every thread you post in lol...

If you took a second to read half the stuff you comment on and thought about it for a second without going off you might understand what was going on heh

Anyways I for one will enjoy the update.... god knows I've had all the avatar prime belts in storage forever.. can't bring myself to toss them >_>

There is gear that is ONLY rare and can not be sent through delivery, such as Osode, or the Hachiryu set. As well as gear that is ONLY EX or RARE/EX and CAN be sent to another character, perhaps as an early test to see what would happen maybe. I don't remember the bulk of the items, but one example would be the Smart Grenade. I know it's not enough to go against the general concept that EX items cannot be sent, but there are exceptions to these "rules."

Also, for those who didn't actually read the original post of this topic (created by Gildrein [MOD]):

[dev1002] Delivery System Adjustments
The upcoming version update will see the following changes made to the item delivery system:
Adjustments
It will be possible to send EX items to characters belonging to the same PlayOnline account.
The list of deliverable EX items will be expanded gradually in order to maintain game balance and ensure that proper testing is conducted.

There.

Can only be sent to other characters of your own POL account.

By game balance, I'm sure it's referring to the idea of obtaining certain Rare/EX gear that wouldn't be accessible to, say one of your mules, by sending it from one of your main characters via delivery (or any other method for that matter). More than likely delivery options will be limited to items and equip that can already be traded - at least in the early stages of this development. Don't take my word for it, but tell me if that doesn't make sense to you.

Anyway, the basic gist of what I'm trying to say is don't jump the gun and presume your assumptions are always correct when we haven't been given the full details of this information. Perhaps a moderator would be kind enough to confirm a few things to make this idea clear to everyone.

I doubt every piece of EX gear will be mailable

gear I don't think should be mailable would be gear that is already storeable with the porter moogle...
Salvage gear / relic gear / AF gear / empyrean armor etc

I think the main use for the ex item delivery will be seals for abyssea af , are they not just ex?

Oh hey, if they say rare/ex, that is not good enough.

They have to list every specific item or it is not literal enough!

They can say rare/ex but that may mean shura togi, would that also mean shura togi+1?!?!

If they don't specifically say so, it's PLAYER THEORY and I'm not interested in that!!!

See how silly you sound?

Well thanks for restating what I've already said

I never said you were incorrect, because what you said is true common knowledge (not to be confused with common sense). This is just one of those things that people generally learn very early on in their FFXI lives. I'm sorry for those who may have been underprivileged from the beginning and without knowledge of the resources where you can find basic information like this.

As for this subject, I'm also glad to know they will be further expanding our options for storage. My guess is it will focus primarily on items used for quests, which I'm sure will help a lot of people. For me, I'd just like a larger gobbiebag because I have too much gear for each job to maintain a steady inventory, and often finding myself leaving some stuff behind. 80 spaces just aren't enough! :P And before you go "but you can access your sack/satchel outside of MH, why don't you keep your stuff there?" Well my answer is simple, and I'll break it down in two parts: 1) Sometimes (not too often) situations can change rapidly and scrounging around for missing pieces would be a waste of time. 2) I'm lazy.

you cannot have more then 80 till SE discontinue PS2 support.

you cannot have more then 80 till SE discontinue PS2 support.

I can't tell if you're joking or what, but that's just silly... Not everything can be blamed on the limitations of PS2. Storage capacity is one of the exceptions to the list of things that can be changed or removed (i.e. just get rid of PS2 support anyway so we can have REAL updates and expansions). Do you really think having more inventory space on hand creates a significant problem to that issue? If it did, we wouldn't have been given the recently added Mog Sack, let alone the Mog Satchel.

While we're on the topic of expanding inventory, you know what else would be even more helpful than this? More lines on macros. I'm tired of pressing 4 buttons to achieve a single action. (2 macros for TP gear, 2 for WS, and 2 more for every other situation...) I know people keep telling me just use windower tools (I won't mention names because SE is watching us! oooOooOo) they make life easier because they have no limitation as to how much gear you can swap per macro. The greatest advantage about this, especially in a laggy situation, is that hitting multiple macros will often overlap and cancel each other, causing me to hit them several more times before I get the result I'm looking for. This tool eliminates that very problem, allowing everything to flow just the way you want it. I'm not exactly sure on the details as to how it works. I'm a total old school player, I still talk down to people who use 3rd party software sometimes, usually those who rely too heavily on it to perform decently, but given the sad direction this game has headed, I'm almost considering that as an option just to free up macro space so I don't have to scramble around all the time. Our current system is really inefficient, unconventional and just plain impractical. Furthermore, these macros, along with the lack of on-hand inventory, are really holding many people back, I can't speak for everyone, but I am especially feeling a huge, negative impact by this in terms of my performance.

This isn't a fighter game, this is an RPG. ONE button for ONE action. No more of this Four-to-One crap.

Wishful thinking~

Well said. Though I think the majority of the player population already is paying for extra characters to hold their garbage, this addition can only be more helpful. Hell, I might not even cancel my mules if it's worthwhile. (only reason I keep them now is for lolbonanza)

Yeah, mules aren't going away. I have 5 mules that are almost packed with items. S/E could not add enough spaces to cover all that crap.

Anyway, definitely do this. It's really annoying when I've spent hours camping something on my main and then have to decide whether I want to toss it or not when space gets tight. On the reverse, I won a set of Trotters on my mule. I'm not going to level a mule just to use Trotters. Although, my main would love them. And, once and a while, I will actually go out and level a mule a bit when I'm bored. It would be nice to share with my mule the Bounding Boots I spent hours getting.

p.s. - Storage is really about to become an issue. I'm just about to start collecting items for my Emp Weapon. For my H2H, that means 50+50+75 or 175 items. Although, I won't have them all at the same time, reality is that I'll have to take the items whenever they are available to me. So, somethings will have to be tossed if they can't be moved to a mule or stored.
