Some friends and I were talking about FFXI and how it has progressed/regressed (depending on your point of view) since it's creation. We were getting kinda depressed, then one bright soul made us laugh out loud, turned our gloom into sunshine and just put everything into perspective with the following comment:
"I am wondering when SE will make it 1 level gained per mob fought".
Could happen I guess, you just never know............;)

Now just wait until someone makes it an honest suggestion. Considering the kinds of suggestions put on this forum, it wouldn't be that out of place.

Why stop there? I want to level up instantly/gain exp by zoning into places. You know: an "exploration" exp bonus.

It will come to a point where new people starting out will get exp scrolls, exp rings, exp bonuses and be able to level to 30 in 1 day of grinding.

If they follow the merit part, they will probably add some more exp need to next level on the lvl 90 > 99.
Something funny would be to put off exp gain in abyssea (from mob and stuff) for a month or two once they release the new level gap ! (and also level sync !)

I see what you did there.

They already have. It's called Abyssea. :<

I actually like that idea. Reminds me of another game where you got new exp bonus for using a new spot to kill stuff at. In time it would eventually fall to a - bonus when you used the area too much. It promoted exploration. Of course the -exp stuff was just a mind tool to really enforce the idea to move along to something new.

Or purchase in-game content that instantly levels you to 30 with proper subjob, completely and fully geared and drops you off in the Abyssea area of your choice, no waiting. :)

Tarus should get lvl 50 instantly, just for being the most awesome of the races, and because we make every environment and outfit 10x better for being present :)

Too bad nobody looks down unless they're in Al'Taieu or looking for a tarusnack (mmm...roasted BLM flavored taru...)

which is perfect support for my argument that all tarus should be able to hover or fly!

So I don't have to bend down anymore and they can just hover right into my mouth?

Tarus are inedible! The only race that's edible are elvaans!
