Verified By Visa is one of the most annoying things I have ever encountered. I hadn't even ever heard of it until it was time to update my card. I've been using the same card for so many years now and I never had Verified by Visa on that card. So I go to update my card and BAM this screen pops up telling me I can't pay for my account unless I'm Verified by Visa. This program is stupid and rediculous and I'm not the only person having problems with it, after talking with my ls members about it I found that a bunch of them have had headaches over this system which doesn't support many cards. So I'm being forced to switch banks to make SE happy. I don't see why this step is necessary or protects me as I've never heard of any other place requiring this nonsense before. No other game I've played (and I've played alot) has ever asked for this weirdness before. It's just a pain in the butt and I nearly quit for good because of it. Honestly, perhaps you need to question whether this step is truly necessary, if someone was going to take my account and pay for it, do you really think this step would prevent them from doing anything? They would just simply find away around it.

Honestly the only person this effects at all is the player and it was only implemented to stop chargebacks, but in order to stop this very small amount of people trying to do chargebacaks, you disrupt normal people from being able to pay you to play the game and cost yourself more money loss then you would have taken to begin with. This is a system that looks great on paper, but when executed, it fails miserably. Perhaps you could figure something out that doesn't interfere so much. I mean the ps2 and xbox 360 users don't have to go through this step, why do PC gamers only have to deal with this weirdness? what's the deal with that? There has to be a way to protect your company's interests without getting in the way of PC gamers that simply want to pay you for your service.

A service designed to help/protect users should be implemented on all layers not just one. Though somewhere along the
way I'm sure this got through simply because it was something than nothing to cover one area at the least.

I agree this does complicate things a bit for most, however the idea that someone on a PC = intelligent doesn't mean so.
This concept needs a review and a serious one at that. Something more user friendly designed between the 2 companies
needs to happen as I recall having talked to my bank only to tell me it wasn't a problem on their end an when I talked to
visa they swore it wasn't their end. Conclusion: Issue was SE's side as to why the process was failing that time.

Work out something on this one SE.

I hate Verified by Visa is a really long, confusing and frustrating service, btw it help us protect our cards from fraud

It would be better to allow us to use the verified or not, at will

Or at the least have a measure of disabling it once used perhaps?

Yep it would be nice to all visa users, as it can really become a pain.

To me it is more than a pain. I CAN NOT get my bank to verify my card bc. they simply do not offer the service.
There is only one bank in NZ that does, and frankly, I don't want to deal with them.
When I tried to register my new Visa card with SE, I spent 4 hours on the phone to bank and visa, and then several attempts trying to get SE to do something about it. (Guess,,, SE is FAMOUS for its friendly and efficent customer service....)
Total failure.
For the moment, I left the game. Basically was forced out by VBV.
VERY weak show, SE.
If anyone knows a solution, let me know, ty.

Verified is a good feature.

I have not had any issues with the verified by visa til the beginning of this month. I entered all my info and I got card is invalid or servers are busy. Being that it was March 8th there was nomaint going on. I called SE and all I got was "I am sorry for the problem you are experiencing. I can see how frustrating this can be." It really needs improvements or removed since not all platforms need to VBV.

If you live in the southeast Suntrust is a fabulous bank and their check cards have mastercard securecode. It wasn't bad to set up at all and I was able to update my cc info very quickly. I was really glad to be able to set things up so easily because the other options as I understand them were to hunt down someone with a PS2 or use the noscript fix and both seemed like quite a hassle.

The wool has been pulled over your eyes. Verified by Visa means SE pay a lower charge-back fee to banks due to fraud (or the fee is waived completely).

Given the amount of people who had to stop playing because of Verified by Visa, with little to no means of official resolution - this service is definitely not for the benefit user.

I have to give my CC info to a friend in another country to have them update my account via PS2 (which incidentally doesn't require 3D Secure) - Yeah. That's real secure, isn't it SE?
