Empyreal Armor Trading Seals Question?

Ok, why is it that I have to trade the piece of armor along with the seals to the crate now?

Why would SE WASTE TIME, altering things that don't need to be altered instead of doing somethign productive? That's my big question. Which takes me back to, what is the point of this?

Probably just making it more intuitive to complete +2 armor when you have Gems which work for multiple pieces of armor that you can have open simultaneously. Instead of making sure you're clicking the right trial number, you now trade the armor with the Gems so that you are sure to complete the right trial.

And it probably took all of 5 minutes to change.

I just did bale+1 a min ago, it was the same thing.
