Now, I haven't experienced this yet myself, so it's possible it's just a rumor or false information floating around wiki, but apparently the dynamis adjustments involve mobs having abyssea-like weaknesses.

SE, I think this is a bad idea. I'm essentially reposting this from my comment in another thread, so I apologize, but I want this to be seen, read, and considered. Abyssea was a very successful addition to FFXI, and I think I speak for most players when I say that I'm thrilled it brought new life into the game. But please don't make the mistake of interpreting its success as a sign that the players want the rest of the game to look just like Abyssea.

One of the things that makes FFXI great is how many different kinds of content there are. Dynamis is unlike limbus, is unlike assault, is unlike salvage, is unlike nyzul isle, is unlike abyssea, etc. etc. Please don't take one popular form of content and transform the rest of the game into it. We don't want a homogeneous world, we want different kinds of content with different kinds of play styles and rewards.

I don't want to have to trigger yellow !!'s in order to get currency in dynamis, just like I don't want to have to clear all 3 zones of one abyssea add-on in order to gain access to the later ones, or whatever. These are different systems, and they should operate differently.

I hope you'll read this and think about it.

I mean, if this is the case, then why not just turn the entire game into Abyssea (for example: You can't get a beehive chip in North Gustaberg's bees without procing red or whatnot...) and be done with it?

(Watch! I just gave them ideas for the August update!)

Will feature the reconstruction of FFXI to revolve around abysea related content.

Taking the one thing that makes Abyssea not fun -- standing around doing nothing while someone procs !! on a mob -- and adding to Dynamis is a really bad idea.

But then Dynamis isn't Dynamis anymore...

I swear it's almost as if people somehow believe drop rates were super awesome before Abyssea. (They weren't)

Protip: Weaknesses only increase drop rates. They don't decrease without them (aside from the case of Dynamis singles, but that was a slightly misguided balance tweak completely unrelated to triggers).

Dynamis mobs die very quickly now, so nobody should be waiting to get procs at all, and they seem very random currently and on good ws's. It would seem they're just meant to increase drop rate on some, not all of your dyna mobs. Just play dyna like usual and you will get procs on things like sleeps and good weaponskills.

i miss the old dynamis, i liked it just the way it was, - the 500k glass fee. Really all they needed to do to make dyna viable was the glass fee reduction.

Drop rates were high for currency in basic 4 dynamis zones when you think about overall FFXI drop rate. Including the stupid triggers in dynamis which aren't even a good concept to begin with is just flat out stupid and lazy on the dev teams part.

There should be no weakness targeting outside of abyssea.
