whats Lowest damage you have seen with blade: Hi?

Shadows on the enemy could have absorbed the first (and strongest) hit, then a secondary hit might have been partially absorbed by a stoneskin effect, or the secondary hit might just not have been a critical hit.

It's also possible that you simply missed the first hit. Hit rate caps at 95% you know.

A 192 damage blade hi is cause by missing the first 2 hits and having only a double attack hit connect, and that hit not criting. Or by being a very terrible ninja, but this sort of thing is more common then you think, acc caps at 95%, so you always have a chance to miss both of those 2 initial hits no matter what gear you use.

I don't think it is much more random than other similar WSes. Steel Cyclone would act in the same way if it wasn't for the fact that a second Double Attack hit from a greataxe is stronger than a single hit from a katana.

Oh and except that SC isn't a crit WS so it doesn't normally get that huge numbers anyway.

DNC sub is for gimps, berserk and DA traits will beat reverse flurish and wasting time using JAs and wasting tp to build steps to get that skillchain damage. On top of that you're using a gimp offhand weapon.

You are aware using a JA gives an inherent 2 second delay where you cant attack right? That 6 attacks on average you're giving up every time you use a step.
5 steps to use reverse florish, 6*5=30 so you're giving up 30 attacks (which is about 1.5 WS's worth of TP) On top of that you're giving up 10% DA and 25% attack 3 min out of 5. You're also stacking on tons of delay to gain very very very little WS frequency and losing 8 acc/att and 10% crit damage. Does your skillchain damage make up this differance? Does it do more then 1.5 WS's, berserk, 10% double attack, 30 attacks worth of damage etc?

This is the only thing worth responding to.
If you have marches, you're taking off haste and DW gear you would normally be using so you're not way over haste cap, making samba useless.
If you don't have marches, 5% haste is going to be about 7% or 8% damage assuming you have haste cast on you depending on other gear.
With Apoc/eponas, you can get DAs on 82% of your melee hits (TA is counted first), assuming this and that you have eponas, brutal, atheling, twilight belt (13% DA) (69% single attacks now) this would put the 10% DA from war sub at giving about a 7% damage increase, which is almost as much as the haste from haste samba, without even factoring in berserk, all the lost attacks from using steps so much, all the tp gain you lose, which results in basically 1.5 WS's per set of 5 steps, the tp lost for using sambas (whats that half a ws?) etc.

Well, to respond, can't exclude the damage brought as a whole from samba (the other players getting its effect), but if anyone were to sub dnc, I'd make it the weakest person in the group lol, so this wouldn't ever apply to me or you.

It's not useful at all. Making things die faster is better than having stun, thats what WHM alts sub BLM for. (and d2)
And having it at 90 is not a valid reason for saying you know why it's useful or how to play it, cause you have NIN at 90 too, and you have a Kannagi, and its obvious you dunno much about NIN.

I have dealt 0 too, but I think it was just a particularly defensive chap that I slapped that time wiv it. Other than that, 40-something is the lowest I've got, I think. At times it makes me frown a little at the time I spent in WoE to get it, but oh well, I did have some fun times there doing it, so I'd say it was still well worth it. :]

Would like to get the Kannagi, though. Would at least have the Aftermath, then. Not going to start on it for quite some while sitll, though, not while the monsters are so much sought for. That, and not until certain friend starts to play again (which might be never).


But yeah, I do think Blade: Hi should never be able to do that Lo. I'd probably rather see a complete miss, than 1-2 digits of damage ha!

Dancer sub is only used to prevent yourself from dying. If you do not need to worry about your HP, then you sub Warrior for damage.

Sub DNC has ways to increase its damage, yes, but sub WAR gives more damage on top of more utility.

/dnc for solo or duo when you may need to stun some move.
/war for almost everything else, if you think about the acc bonus on /dnc, /war can agressor, if you fear about the evasion: feets +2.

Since this turned into a discussion about dancer subjob....

It's good for solo, but WAR sub is often better. If you're in Abyssea soloing things you can use a regen atma and have WAR sub for ruby staggers (which are important in many solos.) THF subjob might also be used for TH2 (I regret not having it for all of the Briareus I did solo.) However, some fights (Glavoid etc.) are impossible to do solo without DNC subjob.
