Kikoku problems

Why is it that the hardest Katana in the game to get (Kikoku)is not the best?
It was so time/gil consuming to acquire the Kikoku.
Yet Blade: Metsu does literally 1/8th the damage of Blade: Hi. Someone can literally get a Kannagi in 4-5 days. Yet it takes months to get a relic weapon. The Kikoku has higher base damage and gives a lot of plus attack. Occasionally does triple damage, and the weapon skill doesn't critical, nor will the occasional increase in damage proc during a weapon skill, which it should. This needs to be worked on. Mainly for those who put all that effort into making a relic weapon, and have it not be anywhere near the best weapon, even though on paper it looks like it would be best.

SE already said they're addressing the issues of relics and mythics being underpowered in comparison to empy's. just gotta be patient.

SE: the way you are trying to boost Abyssea sales (emp. wpn) really did pissed off a lot of loyal hardcore relic owner...

I do not care whether SE will remake relic/mythic in the future; the game has betrayed its loyal players/customers at the moment they decided to make emp wpn so over-power. This IS a slap in the face for relic owner and I fail to believe SE ever since.

while yes alot of ppl put thousands of hours and millions of gil to get their relics/mythics, you have to look at things realistically. every other mmo on the market that comes out with new expansions/addons/content/etc... has awesome gear that becomes obsolete very shortly after, and usually by random mundane drops (i.e. not the new pimp shit). SE has actually taken a different route just to appease to these relic/mythic holders alone, making it possible to upgrade these already powerful items. normally you shouldn't be able to expect exceptionally old content to remain at the top tier years and years down the road.

yes atm they're underpowered as far as epmy's are concerned, and yes empy's are easier to get, but here's the deal: SE knows, and are workin on it. they're going to fix your relics and mythics, just be patient ppl XD

Most players here are simple FF long time fans but not necessary those MMORPG kind of people; and as far as I understand FFXI was never never ever a game like other lame MMORPG which die in 1-2 years because they do not really do phase-out.

What you have said is 100% true and I agree; what I'm saying is, just for the sale of Abyssea at the very last moment of the game, SE intentionally over-power one specific item which let down so many loyal long-time players, is that worth it? AND after they've done so they realized 'oh shoot' they pissed off the lolrelic guys and so to make it up for them they decide to give some candy to the crying babies... Not everyone will take that kind of careless gift.

Just ask any one here who's happy about the prishe statue / chocobo hat thing.

i can definitely see your point, but meh, ppl always gonna piss and moan about something. like how only the new ppl get the new hat lol.

guess it just goes to show, you can please some of the ppl all the time, and all the ppl some of the time, but never everyone all the time
