View Full Version : [Compilation to Dev Team] Post 5/9 Update: What's not here yet?
So far the update has been great and exciting with all the cool new stuff that was brought in. For the first time in years last night I entered Dynamis Beaucedine amazed with all the changes. Revising of old content in that sense made me feel it was new :o
The development team was able to deliver so much content in a short time and this is commendable. However due to time limitations a lot of implementations that were requested and confirmed development did not make it such as the Favorite Atma Menu, which is understandable. The purpose of this thread is to compile your input on what you as a player were looking forward to in this update that was not implemented so that we can maintain assurance to the development team that we are still interested in the idea or feature to be implemented, that we would appreciate sharing of progress and projected date of implementation.
Once again FFXI Development Team, thank you for your hard work  which we appreciate. The world of Vana'diel is starting to become more brighter as new updates are implemented :D

I'd say they forgot to add Summoner armors per usual. I don't know how you can make a MMO from 2001 to 2011 and still not understand that a Summoner does not use enfeebling magic and needs a real armor and not a generic mage armor.
At least I can sit here and laugh together with the PUPs who also got the same armor set. Jolly good time PUPs, enjoying the elemental skill bonuses much?

I can certainly understand your concern on equipment used by multiple jobs not accomodating a specific job's uses or function. I think in this case a great job was done as far as AF3/Empyrean armor, but of course each case changes each time a new update is live as new equipment is introduced. So I think the proper requested suggestion to development would be to properly evaluate the effectiveness and usefulness of new equipment introduced to be accomodating to jobs in a diverse manner.

I thought AF3 seals were supposed to be made storable. If they were made storable I must have missed it.
Now that they've successfully nerfed end-game pup's best weapon to just an "I'll take it if it's just going to floor" item it looks like I'm going to need 2 new pup Emp weaps for VE/SS offense/defense so I best get on that. Gotta decide which way to go on that. To be fair tho' NOBODY had anything as good as burritos as far as WS, although there is a scythe that cast Death?! so not sure how balance was improved by this. Now if they make Mythic obtainment REASONABLE I'll go that way, but I'll just buy lottery tickets since I have a better chance of the jackpot than I do of a Mythic ever being reasonable.
Okay mine would be:
Relic & Mythic Weapons Reborn {Yes, Please}- レリックとミシックの強化 (http://bit.ly/j3YJSW)
3-25-2011 Response
We are aware that there currently exists a major difference between the strength of Empyrean weapons and that of Relic and Mythic weapons.
In regards to that balance issue, we are planning to make adjustments. We plan to create a higher level of balance by strengthening both Relic and Mythic weapons instead of simply weakening Empyrean weapons.
Along with that, we are also planning to make adjustments to both the time and cost required to create and strengthen Relic and Mythic weapons. Eventually, we would like to even out the differences in the amount of time required to create and strengthen these weapons.
Yesterday's update:
The cap on physical damage sustainable with the sword "Burtgang" equipped has been increased.
The cap on magic damage sustainable with the shield "Aegis" equipped has been increased.
Followup Questions
Please clarify are these the only adjustments being made to relics & mythics? hope not :(
If these are not please provide insight on progress and projected time of implementation. Thank you.

not sure if it was just a typo by SE or not, but they said in the update notes that there would be new KI's for both the perpetual hourglass and the timeless hourglass. they did replace the perpetual hourglass with the prismatic hourglass, however the timeless hourglass is still 500k and consumable. btw this ain't me complainin that i still gotta spend 500k for timeless, just thought it should be mentioned that it was a typo error.

While they are relic/mythic, most complaints have come from the offensive side not the defensive. I think SE is planning on strengthening the mythics/relics further through more ToM or adjusting the current ToM rewards giving larger boosts.

I'm thinking the reason why there are still two types of hourglasses is because there are still zones like COP that were not included in the update. Still, like you say clarification and better notation would be nice.

They didn't specify but the CoP areas are unchanged so they might still use the Timeless.

/nod very true to continue upgrades through ToM. However the issue addressed was to balance the classes of weapons at each respective level(85, 90, etc). I personally am not complaining because I understand the development team has a lot on their hands to make come true. I'm just hoping we can get a more clear inside picture on what they plan as far as meeting the expectation on implementing adjustments, which a lot of players were expecting to happen in yesterday's update, which did not happen.

They only changed the original Dynamis this round, presumably you still need perpetual for Dreamands zones.
