Just as predicted. I am just now updating the 12 hour All Worlds Emergency Maintenance/Update, logged on and the first thing I see is a PoL message, "All Worlds Emergency Maintenance" May 10, 10 am PDT - 12PM PDT. It's not a big issue for me really, I have other things to do, and I know they are going to find glitches, but I can see and hear the outcry already.

with all the changes they made this update I'm not surprised they are have an emergency maintenance. I'd rather them fix stuff now then wait.
I don't see why there should be such an outcry, it's always like this.
With such major overhauls of certain aspects of the game, glitches and errors are to be expected.
At least they're fixing it.

You must be fairly new to FFXI. This happens after each update, major or minor, without exception, without fail and, usually more than once. Yes we always expect it to happen, yes, the glitches are fixed fairly quickly, but trust me, and my point was, that people will be complaining, maybe not here, but on their servers and in their LS's.

"Just as you predicted"...
hmmm...
I have to wonder... what brilliant insight caused you to predict this? could it be that every other major update since the day the game came out has been followed by at least 2 emergency maints to make tweeks to bugs that the update beta testers never found?
If you're going to post, how about keeping it to something intelligible.

:) First, I said "just as predicted", not "just as I predicted".
Second, read some of the posts under the "what are the 3 things you will do during/after the update" section and see how many said the same thing.
Third, my post didn't complain about it, just highlighted the normal state of affairs after an update.
So far, the issues are people being unable to warp back to Jeuno because too many people are there, over 700 on some servers and the Delivery System is not working. On my server, there were usually 300+ in PJ, today, almost doubled.
We all know there will be emergency maintenance, doesn't mean we can't have an opinion about it without someone being insulting. Have a nice day :)

People never say "hey look, the Sun rose in the east again, just as predicted!" All players know that an emergency maintenance (or more) happen after every major update.
You can "see and hear the outcry already." Really? Many of us NA and EU players are at work or in school (if that's not wrapped up yet) during these post-update fixes. Somehow, though, only you are better things to do than the rest of us among the wailing, unwashed masses.
Also, nice parting shots. Befitting of someone so mature and busy as yourself.

Players have always had trouble warping into zones with over 725 people. It happened every so often back during the Whitegate days.
I had to kill POL every time I warped back to Port Jeuno this past Saturday. FFXI kept hanging up on the Downloading Data screen. Ever time I remembered to run a /sea area, 700+ were in Asura's Port Jeuno. And the situation will not improve until the Dev Team makes it convenient for players to set their HP in the 3 nations.
They're halfway there with the merged AH and Abyssea Helper NPCs.

Like I said in my edited post, no need for insults, shows your lack of maturity more than mine I would say. :)

You made a post about this to NOT complain in? Why start the thread?

Hey guys, guess what? There is emergency maintenance. You know you can't drink orange juice with Allegra right?

Also I edited my post BECAUSE I realized that the finishing comments were inappropriate...........just as the prior insult was and the subsequent one. I made a tongue in cheek post, too bad you have nothing better to do than resort to insults.

they have at least 1 after every update, once they fing the NMs that are paying out like a busted slot machine.
I think Square Enix was raging over all the monks who disobeyed them and got 24 merits in their hand-to-hand. >w>

I'm surprised they waited until the normal time for these things. Things were clearly FUBAR several hours beforehand (which see the Delivery suspension).
