View Full Version : So what do you think of the update?

Font change seems ok but rather annoying to read from distances.
Dynamis update seems decent for people that want easy af2 but will screw over relic upgraders. Lol at !! procs in dyna.
New Voidwatch and BCNMs don't seem all that impressive at all, drops are mediocre too.
Merit upgrades are ok but can cap those in a day.
New FoV seems kinda pointless, giving it a new name even more so.
Being able to send +3 upgrade items to a mule saves some space.
Port jeuno congestion is the same as before (over 700 people in the one area currently), their fixes were stupid (especially the windy npc). How can they ever get people away from 1 zone when the game is so popular for pickup groups now and shouts can only be seen in one zone? lol
New mobs to get +2 from will be nice for many that could never get them done I guess but it will lead to more complaints from Emp upgraders due to more compeition no doubt.
Drk buff, crit boost, fast cast buff were good. Showing exact numbers for lights was decent too.
Overall to me it seems an ok enough update but mainly for the minor fixes/buffs than the meat of the update.

Overall, pretty lackluster...But overlooking it because of the tsunami thing. It's more of fix than an update though.
I only played for about 20 minutes last night, so I didn't have the opportunity to do much of anything. Still, I spent 20 merits and gained 13 inventory slots from dumping KCs/HKCs on Shami. I can't complain about that at all! :)
I also looked at the update as a major bug-squahing/minor-tweaking endeavor, which is fine by me. There's just enough new stuff to do to keep things fresh while I work my way through my backlog of things to do.

Which, in my eyes, is just what the name needed. Some of these fixes were long overdue and are greatly appreciated. I wouldn't even mind if the whole next major update consisted solely of further gameplay/interface fixes and upgrades. I liked this update a lot.

Haven't logged on yet. I didn't see anything in that update that looked good though. It seems like someone put the old useless guys back in charge and stole the Abyssea people for FFXIV again.
It is a shame we have these forums and they still don't listen to what we say. Not sure if I need to blame their community representives or themselves for the blunders. (I mean, I told months ago NOT to make a black mage armor set and slap SMN on it... and they did it anyway.)
I wonder how many more years I'll have to sit here and tell SE developers "hey you are stepping in dog poo" just to be ignored and see them keep stepping in the same poo piles. Would it hurt to take good advice once in their lives?

I'm just hoping that if the delivery system issues actually involved items that weren't meant to be sent being mailable, we're given a grace period to return them to their original place instead of just locking them on a mule forever. The alternative would be people petitioning to get things manually swapped by a GM, but that'd be a nightmare for the GMs.

Dear SE pls be kind to us spent an hour in Dynamis just to tested and we only got one currency drop ....come on even with a treasure hunter ? Though everything else was fun it's almost impossiable to get currency which will only inspire the inflation of Currency...

I love the fishing changes. Monsters are super-obvious now with their own message, so no more wasting line time figuring out if I've got one or the !!! fish I'm actually sniffing around for. I've gotten quite a few crit bites too in the short amount of GP fishing I did, which is pretty cool. Wonder if we're going to get a gear item that increases the crit bite rate(I'm only guessing but figure that fish closer to your level won't get critted as often).

So far I like it a lot. So many of the little annoyances were fixed! If the new battle grounds are crap I dont really care because there is so much to do I havent gotten to already. Totally agree with you, Arcon. Another update just for that would make my day!

If they don't improve the drops or make the drops trigger-able, there goes any chance for me getting a relic outside of Mog Bonanza. At that point, time to liquidate and get gil, especially if the prices (as I think they will) explode!
Don't like the update at all, frankly.

the only content I've tested is GoV. I really like it. not sure about other areas but in zeruhn mines it seems that more mobs need to be placed. it really only supports 1 or 2 at the moment

I think with your jobs you should definitely push for empyrean over relic. Gungnir is debatable but in terms of time&effort/reward ratio, there's no competition.

When they can make people work for Empyreans without having to sell their souls to Abyssea-HNM shells, we'll talk.

VoidW - too easy atm (New things are cool and have potential)
Dynamis - well we all know...nobody did dyna anymore and now it is fixed but was it a good fix or bad fix I have yet to do dyna...nor do I see any real reason to go back besides currency/S-ring/S-mantel

I don't know where Square-Enix got the idea of boosting the Critical Hit Rate and Critical Hit Damage caps. It's not like Crits weren't already too powerful to begin with, and hearing about this ninja-buff is getting progressively annoying, especially since DRK and SAM two of the only jobs that can't even take advantage of that as much as others. D:<
Maybe I'm not understanding how this is a good thing even for other jobs, but as far as I know, this isn't going to give DDs other than WAR MNK NIN THF BLU any more usefulness for Abyssea, even if it IS a damage boost for all DDs across the board.
F#$&ing Christ on a cracker, so much for DRK (I HATE USING AXES AND RAMPAGE SO SHUT UP) getting buffed, eh?
