View Full Version : Request: Repeatable Seal quests w/o zoning

Hi. Just from looking at these boards for about ten minutes, it's apparent that a lot of people think the game is now too easy. To a certain extent, I agree with them. However, I have one (hopefully simple) request, which I think most people will be able to get behind: I think we should be able to repeat af3+1 seals quests without having to zone each time.

The quests are tedious enough and the drop rates low enough that they're already a significant time sink, and they really aren't any fun. That said, I agree with the widespread sentiment on these forums that our gear shouldn't just be handed to us for free. I think allowing us to repeat the quests as often as we like without having to take the additional time to zone is a pretty reasonable compromise. We'll still have to invest time and energy into upgrading our empyrean gear, and we'll still feel like we've earned it, but it will be just a little bit less annoying.

Thoughts?

This is where I see that seal issue imbalance most noticeable. My seals come from some of those quests that require more time like Her Father's Legacy (http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Her_Father%27s_Legacy), which requires zoning. So either, you have to go to Jeuno and buy another wing or re-enter and get another drop. I would much rather stay in the zone and kill the mobs for lights/TE's and the drop. It would still take a while. But, at least I would be able to work off the same stones while I was getting the item.

yeah i agree with this. i hate having to zone every time i trade the item.

Same here, You have my vote! I no like having to zone all the time in order to just trade an item in over and over. ^^b

Edit: Alos maybe put NPCs "Shops" w/in Abyssea where you can sell/buy your loot?
Edit: Also maybe give us access to the Auction House w/in Abyssea?
Edit: Also maybe make a quest where we can get a "Bubble KI" where it becomes an Ability to every job/race, Where you can use it to freeze "Time" w/in Abyssea, Once you break that freeze there's a Cooldown timer.

I would have appreciated this when I was spamming some quests for seals (MNK legs, murex spicule for example)--but I doubt they would do it as there will be some clamour about it making some too easy (like ones you just run and fetch from a ??? and run back).

Regardless, something needs to be done--some of the quests are just ridiculously more inhibitive than others, yet have the same ridiculously low drop rates for ANY seal (not to mention that more often then not, you get a useless seal for a job that isn't even unlocked, much less leveled to even use the seal).

On the upside to the issues with seal acquisition though, they did announce a new method for getting them is coming...just no clue what it is yet.

Being able to buy a ton of galkan sausages / murex spicules and just macro the items and get a ton of AF3 in 5 minutes seems really dumb.

It would also just heighten the imbalance between quests that require obtaining rare drops (like the malacite one) or the annoying ones where you need to run all over creation.

AF+1 is already stupidly easy to get.

and there's post #1

lol

but well said... there is a GROSS imbalance in the methods that needs addressing.

The funny thing is that some quests actually let you redo them without zoning. The weighted package in Vunkerln for example. Sped up the process a lot when I noticed I didn't have to zone.

Lower the rank requirment of all of the quests to 0. Having some at 3 makes no sense.

Very easy. All Seal NMs can be killed with 2 people in like 60 seconds. 4 people total would cover all Grellows, too (Melee, WHM, BLU/NIN, BLM/BRD). If you're lacking Atmas and Abyssites and are thus unable to properly contribute to a group like this, get those first. It's no one's job to carry anyone else and get seals for them.

I also think they should put in a special NPC to buy the unwanted seals from us. I know I get many many unwanted seals myself, I'm sure everyone else does too.

It's no one's job to carry anyone else and get seals for them. You seem to forget that this a a coop game, not WoW. You're supposed to work with people.

Shame on all of you for wanting to make this game easier.

I also would like to see this implemented.

No, I'm not forgetting anything. I never said people shouldn't work together. I just said it's not my job to carry someone who has no Atmas or Abyssites in a gear run. Most Abyssites are soloable/quested, and RR/MM Atma runs are extremely common. There is a huge difference between working together with players who are undergeared but have the basics set, and carrying someone who doesn't have any Lunar Abyssites but wants full AF3+2.

I feel you Mordanthos. Even LS mates are too busy going after their own stuff to interrupt their schedule sometimes. When you do get a group that is going for what you need and are agreeing to let you lock items...I can't blame them, I'd do the same.

I've taken to trying to solo as much of them as I can, since I have a wide range of jobs... but it sucks when you can't get the !! to proc. Getting sick of that @#$@#$ bomb dropping WHM and BLU and never DRK. Made WHM feet like 2 months ago, any my BLU isn't even unlocked....Antlion is just as bad with dropping PUP and BRD (level 0 and 51 respectively) and never for my 90 SMN and 87 BLM. I'll eventually get my seals one day, probly more from quests though at the rate I'm going.

fyi, MNK/DNC can solo:

Legs: Spider + Colibri... probably not the bugard due to Tyrant Tusk/random death
Hands: Buffalo
Feet: Pascerpot
Head: Gaizkin (probably)

It's funny how if gear is limited to 5% of the server or less, it gets left alone - but if gear is obtainable to 80+% of the server, people complain it's too hard and needs to be nerfed.
