Usually I have no issue with the second to last floor gear pull, but some times it's not my day and the gears link and I mess up the run. My favorite is when you pull and they dance around the room, aka rather than going in a straight line to the middle and to the door they wiggle around the room, possibly linking or taking precious seconds from the kill time. Or worse, with three players not having the best gear, the killing the gears in less than one minute seems much of a feat, are there any ideas to make it this one thing less difficult but still preserve the benefit? I'm not saying using methods like the other zones where they just link into camp though. Maybe just have them not link at all or to that extant since pulling all ten and killing them gives a low chance of an NM and makes the boss easier.

Also for the kill time, I usually find myself counting the seconds in this zone, hoping that I get tp fast enough or my ws does enough damage to off set the 1k to 2k restoral they might use.

I understand the idea of challenge but this is someone based on luck rather than player skill. Is there a chance this could be revised to make salvage more appealing to the casual crowd or at least for the people who aren't as hard core as they used to be. Thinking this over more, the damage of Homing Missile, and the way you go about lowering it, makes this exponentially harder then any other zone to complete. Even Mortal Revolution received a cut in damage dealt by it.
