I was thinking about swordsmanship and the fact that countering and parrying are part of the whole style of swordplay.
Why cant SE give PLD a much higher parry rate?
As far as counter however.. actually countering an attack is already utilized by other jobs.. and as not to steal their limelight.. maybe PLD could get something to counter weaponskills used against them. maybe not an actual direct attack. but being able to parry a special attack or gaining a large TP bonus for being hit with a special attack could be useful.
this would allow the PLD to WS more frequently keep enmity capped easier by dodging high dmg and/or increasing dmg output w/o making them Uber DD.
Shield could get the WS/counter/TP skill. and 2handed weapons could get increased parry skill.
