View Full Version : Locking a Thread v Deleting a Thread
Is there any reason why some threads are locked while others are deleted? <removed personal references> My personal theory is that the closed threads have good ideas, but need other people to shut up while the deleted threads were just bad to begin with. However, I would like to ask you (Moogles and GMs) what motivates you to pick one over the other.

Yeah, because both should have been deleted.

my thread was not Harassment, my thread had a point, to stop threads like this and the other one from happening.

If the goal of your thread was to stop people from asking questions, that certainly qualifies as harassment (Even oppression).

Then what was the goal of your thread that started this mess?
Had something to do with the Voyager Sallet NM in the Den of Rancor (obviously not your words, because I actually too the time to make correct spelling of all the words instead of your version of the English Language). But presented in the way that was harassment towards Rambus.

Although everyone knows where the real Voyager Sallet NM is, but that is besides the point.

What in particular made it harassment towards Rambus?
Also, it's Volger Skillet.

I think the real question is:
Will this thread be locked or deleted?

I think a lot of it has to do with the number of reports that are made in a thread. If people are spamming reports they most likely just nuke it as opposed to trying to weed through it and delete select posts. It could also be on the moderators preference; either way, I don't think it really matters. This is their forum and they can delete threads or posts that they deem bad if they choose to do so.

You mean besides the fact that you bragged about it on another forum?
I usually post my idea on BG before posting it here when I'm making a thread, so I don't see how this particular instance constitutes bragging compared to the other threads I have made.
How about the poor attempt to copy his usage of the English Language to make him sound "ignorant" in your posts, up until you massive edits to your posts.
How did I copy his use of English? His writing is distinctively different from the English you saw in my post both before and after the edit. There was no reference to him, so how could it make him sound ignorant? Why are you quoting ignorant?
Or your passive-aggressive attacks towards him at almost every one of his posts lately?
My last post to him was asking what he meant by proof since I said "You can conduct a test of the brew's effect using Leafstorm" and he responded "Do you have proof?". How is that a passive-aggressive attack?
Or your choice of wording? I would have asked the exact same thing you asked in this format:
So I have to conform to the way you speak in order for you to stop coming into my threads and shitting them up?
You even included your own opinion in the matter, thinking that your opinion counts on this forum.
99% of comments on this forum are opinion. Even requests pose an opinion of what should be changed. I don't see you harassing them. In fact, you appear awfully attached to me when it comes to your harassment.
All that leads to your harassment towards Rambus in this thread, which you have created partly to harass him....again...
I created this thread to ask moogles and GMs what is the difference between locking and deleting a thread on these forums and I gave an example of a deleted thread and a locked thread. I promise you it's not that big of a leap in logic. Take the jump and see.

Threads are locked if they have useful posts/information in them that are worth keeping, or if it's a thread with a staff response. Otherwise, it's usually deleted if there's a problem.
