Makel-Pakel does not accept my trade of three cloaks for one of his

I contacted a GM in-game because I did not know if I had made an error. However I was redirected to post here.



Makel-Pakel says he is researching Ulbukan equipment and asks to trade him capes, mantles, cloaks -OR- just ones that enhance job-related faculties.

I purchased 2 JSE cloaks from the Ambuscade rewards and traded a Mog Kupon I-Amb for another. I purchased three DRG job-specific cloaks, they are not upgraded. I traded these three cloaks to Malel-Pakel but nothing happens. He does not offer one of his own in exchange.

Ambuscade items are not a part of the Ulbukan item set that Makel-Pakel deals with, which are obtained from, for example, Colonization Reives.

Thanks for the reply. I have worked at the University level in teaching English. The use of -OR- tells us that there is another category of item that was not already defined by "Ulbukan: capes, mantles, cloaks". "Ones that enhance job-related faculties", if JSE capes do not qualify here then what items are being defined in this category? If there are none, then this is bad English and still a bug that needs to be corrected.

If this was my bad, I would have liked to ask the GM for a fix of the spent resources. Which is why I put in the call.
However, I wasn't spoken to, I was instead given a copy-pasta directing me to make a bug-report

“...Or just ones that enhance job-related faculties." Meaning they can’t have any augments on them. They must be Ulbukan capes w/ no augments. So if they have augments they must be removed before you can trade them in.

He doesn't take Ambuscade items he takes the capes that drop from reives and incursion. In the case of DRG that would be the Updraft Mantle.

But as explained, when posting in this forum section, you must use the template found in the sticky thread, or else your thread will be moved to "Not a bug report" or "Insufficient information."

They usually only look at the first post so you should make a new thread.

There are so many people that have approached me both here and in-game as if I had posted on a help forum.
So I appreciate you for sharing relevant information. I will follow your recommendation when/if it does get moved.

Just to add a bit in-depth into the issue: Ambuscade was added a few years after the relevant items, so when translating the texts for the relevant items, they might not have had the information available that there just might be some other items that will be confused with them.

I haven't checked the Japanese version if they can be as easily mixed together here yet.

That is not to say the text can not be made better now.
