One of the big problems with Sortie (and much content in XI) is that it's static, nothing ever changes and the rewards are pretty static too.
Maybe consider adding very rare lower tier lottery NM spawns too? Like in Phantasy star online.
A rare spawn on the first level when you warp in, that can drop a rare piece of gear. This makes it so that you're not only doing the content for the basic purpose, but also a rare spawn hunt. It adds some excitement to something fairly mundane and grindy.
The problem with this is adding gear, it should not be too strong since it negates other gear. So just make it a cosmetic.
The tartarus platmail from Vagary was a hugely wanted item, not only did it push players to make groups for Vagary when they mainly wanted the mail but it also pushed people to buy mars orbs for AMAN trove from other players, and sub other characters.
Tartarus Platemail was one of the best items added to the game for a few years, due to how badly people wanted it.
Maybe add a variation of that? A black version maybe.
