i dont usually post on these forums, mostly because i know SE ignorse its english speaking playerbase
but even the japanese are complainging about the godawful limbus grind, and the best they do is slightly shortening a temenos run
after tripling down on the grind

FFXI has been a grind since day one. It's more like hexa-septupling down on the grind. If you don't like grinds, you're kinda playing the wrong game.

You're right. But Limbus borrows *NOTHING* from previous grinds that were tolerable:
Nyzule Isle grinds have floors 1-100 and the party goes up together. No waiting for someone who accidentally clicked the wrong floor).
Omen, same thing.
Also, Salvage floors have teleporters that take everyone to the same destination, with no menus and they automatically replenish your HP/MP when you go up. (I'm not saying Limbus needs this, just that it's something that is available).
Also, temporary items and a progress bar is a terrible way to track progress during a Limbus climb. Instead, we complete an objective and then get a temp-item that takes the whole party up to the next floor.

Also, temporary items and a progress bar is a terrible way to track progress during a Limbus climb. I don't think there's anything wrong with the method of tracking progress at all. It's largely irrelevant to the issue at hand, which is length of grind. I know people who don't care for Limbus but it has little to do with these elements and more to do with the time a single session can take, especially solo. My sole issue with limbus is the artificial limit on Trusts that other content doesn't have. I guess it's supposed to encourage people to party but it doesn't; 95% of the people I see in it are playing solo and ignore offers to team up.
The whole original point of the limbus paths was basically like a dungeon, where you progress from beginning to end. That hasn't changed, and since you're making the comparison, it isn't even as different from Nyzul as you frame it, the only difference really being Nyzul is trivially easy with current progression. You still have to walk to the thing and click on it to go up; it still has a menu when you click it, the only real difference here is Nyzul objectives are more varied.
The only thing I'll agree with you on is that going up should bring everyone up together. I have no problem with clicking on a thing, I have no problem with the menu (Nyzul has a menu too...) I have no problem with the temp items or the progress bar except that it should stay full when completed so it's more clear that you're done; as there's really no benefit to repeating it.
Given that you can complete sections in any order, I don't really see a better alternative to the temp items anyway- I suppose it could indicate which floors you completed at the transfer teleporter but the key items allow you to verify at any time, including in the lobby, without interacting with an NPC. So I really don't understand your objection.
