For over a week and a half, I have been experiencing sudden disconnect from the Ragnarök server for FFXI several times a day. Error code: POL-2059

We apologize for any inconvenience that has occurred when playing Final Fantasy XI. The Error code POL-2059 indicates a sudden, complete loss of connection between the PlayOnline viewer and the internet. It is often a network-related issue, frequently resolved by rebooting the router, checking firewall/antivirus settings, or ensuring stable ISP connectivity.

If you have properly configured your router, and you are still experiencing these issues, our next suggestion is to bypass the router, and connect your computer directly to your modem. Please ensure that you power down both the modem and the computer for at least five minutes before attempting to connect to FINAL FANTASY XI.

If you continue to receive these same errors when you are connected directly to the modem, then the problem lies with your ISP. We would recommend contacting your provider and advising them that one or more of the ports previously provided to you are being blocked or filtered, and that you do need access on these ports.

If it hsn't always been happening but suddenly started happening, it's most likely a backbone internet routing problem. VPNs can often help you circomvent internet routers that are down or having a panic attack. Otherwise, you'll just have to wait it out, as it's not likely within SE's control.
