It's time to merge REMA Shields

Hi SE,
Could you please consider merging some of the REMA shields into one item?

99 Aegis + Stage 5 Duban?
99 Aegis + 99 Ochain + Stage 5 Duban?

This combined shield upgrade can be minor or massive depending on the effort that you deem necessary. I think a case can be made for Gjallahorn, Daurdabla and Loughenshade as well. Honestly, if you want to be cheeky, you can say this is a newly discovered Arm of Balrahn.

There are just way too many sidegrades, not enough inventory space and no real end-game content incentive at the moment.

Why are farming Limbus? Why are farming Prime weapons for 3 years? Can you tell us that something BIG is coming?

Please help us to feel like the grind (effort and monthly fee) is worth it.

As a thought exercise, I could see a merge of these shields happening with:

99 Aegis
99 Duban (Stage 5)
5 Umbral Marrow
5 Mulcibar's Scoria
5 Riftcinder
5 Riftdross
10 P. PLD Cards.

Shoot, it could be 5/10/50 or 500 for all I care. There is just something unsettling about having so many side-grades and no content roadmap to choose which shield is best to use... :(

Loughenshade is already the combination of the best stats of Gjallarhorn and Daurdabla, merging would defeat the purpose of the harp range. How would you vary the range when you want a smaller or larger area of effect for lullaby?

Do people really do this? I mean to say: When we press lullaby macros with instruments for small vs large area, we can't really see the Area of Effect? (I guess, you would have to use <st> in your macro for this to visible?). You have a point, but I'm looking for ways to combine inventory without destabilizing gameplay / content.

(I'm sure people would be upset if Matters had yet another use ...they're quite random to obtain right now and can be annoying, but I really like the creativity you've shown here). I tried to word my post carefully, and imply the combined shield should be a minor or major improvement based on the amount of effort SE decides to utilize. It doesn't have to be a major upgrade, but a combined shield with no drawbacks would be ideal for the reasons I described. (I also want to call out Hachirin-no-obi which is a combined item that still carries the drawbacks of elemental weaknesses). If SE were to combine shields, it would be appreciated if the combined shield did not have any associated drawbacks per shield.

Not at all, All Jobs except PLD is the perfect way to finish off a bunch of PLD only shields.
That's actually why I was willing to list such OP broken stats too. many jobs wouldn't wear it even if they could make it. Others wouldn't bother to spend the gil & time it'd take making afterglow relic/empyrean. It would remain a real legend as only a handfull of people would ever actually make it.

Same case for an Instrument that's all jobs except BRD with CHR+49 All Songs+9 Wind/String Instrument Skill+49 Singing Skill+49 Song effect duration+49% Grants four additional song effects Honor March Aria of Passion

It'd make subjob BRD actually impressive but with the requirements so high afterglowing gjallerhorn & daurdabla + 198 matters is quite the investment. Especially if you still gotta re-make all the stuff for your main BRD.
