Good day, adventurers!
It's still quite cold as January comes to an end, so I hope you have been doing well.
It's the time of year when static electricity seems to build up everywhere, so I'm always careful when touching metal doorknobs. If any of you have any good ideas on how to deal with the issue, I'd love to hear them.
In regards to the February update, it will be scaled back compared to recent ones, as the team continues working on the content and underlying game systems for future updates to come.
As for what they're working on, I mentioned this in my New Year's greetings (https://sqex.to/fc5F1), but the plan is to cover a wide range of topics, from in-game content such as updates to the Trust magic system, to improvements to the game environment, including the developmental and operational infrastructure. The team is working hard to implement these updates as quickly as possible, with some potentially being ready as early as March 2026. We appreciate your patience and support!

・Volume 1: Ahriman (Item Level 119 and above)
・Volume 2: Taurus (Item Level 109 and above)
In Volume 1, the Ahriman is accompanied by Fomors equipped with relic weapons. You should try taking down the companions before facing the Ahriman.
As for Volume 2, the Taurus will summon Imps and Ahrimans once you reduce its HP to a certain point. Its companions deploy auras that inflict debuffs on you, so you'll want to deal with them appropriately. Also, the Taurus is capable of powerful counters, so you definitely don't want to attack it head on!

This special battlefield lets you acquire weapons favored by Lion and Aldo, as well as equipment such as a mandragora pouch and a moogle sacoche.

Currently, you may have noticed some monsters out in the field that you don't usually see in Vana'diel. They're slimes, but not the usual slimes that spew Fluid Spread that you're used to. No, they're that ever so distinctive slime shaped like a water droplet!
This year, the Dragon Quest series is celebrating its 40th anniversary, so as a show of respect to a fellow pioneer of the JRPG genre, we'll be holding a special collaboration event within FFXI.
We recently welcomed Jin Fujisawa, the director of DRAGON QUEST X (https://www.dqx.jp/online/), as a guest on Episode 14 of A.M.A.N. and LIVE! (http://sqex.to/t3eB8) that aired in late December 2025.
If you haven't played the event, or simply haven't gotten your hands on the special equipment yet, make sure to do so while it's still available!

Thanks to your support, we were able to fill the venue to capacity. You have our utmost gratitude. I'm super excited, as this will be the first event in some time where both the development and operations teams will be on stage together.
The second part of the event will be streamed online, so many people will likely be watching from home. However, we're working hard to make it a memorable experience for those attending in person.
