After years of playing I never realized how awful this system was. It's fine for buying pulse weapons. Today I learned I am expected to click Skirmish stones one at a time for redemption. Ain't nobody got time for that. I can redeem 7,920 prize powder at once. The same number input would be most welcome for exchanging.

In line with this, I would suggest a game-wide standardization of NPCs who act as stores.
There are many different systems in place, where only a few are needed.

Even NPCs who aren't technichally stores such as Harara, W.W. in Windurst Woods should all be given a look so we can spend less time repeating a menu needlessly.

If all such NPCs are given a look and a standardized system is built to ensure simple mass exchanges are possible with various settings for the unique circumstances each require, more time can be spent actually enjoying the game instead of getting burned out just spamming F8, enter, right, enter, down, down, enter, up, enter, enter, repeat. Or whatever the sequence is for the item you need 500 of is.

With standardization, bugs should no longer crop up after initial implementation as there's no brand new code being added when adding new store NPCs or items to said NPCs, just a new table of items tied to the same system with [insert currency here] and [insert condition for availability here]

The real "store" system is really only designed for gil. If htey had designed it from the beginning to be able to work with any currency they could have used that system for other contents. And they have updated the store system before, for exmaple, the NPCs in Nashmau that sell automaton parts, they added in a system where you have to meet a job level requirement to purchase items from that shop, but it otherwise works the same as any shop NPC. So they do clearly have the ability to extend it.

I think it's just because the script menu system allows them to have a lot more control over things than shops do with less effort.

So you agree, but not with them spending the budget toward replacing the scripted menus.

I can respect that, it would take a fair bit of time on dev, testing, and implementation. More than they typically spend on a given month's updates outside of their once/twice a year "major" updates.

I haven't seen Potpurri ever been useful since I only have like 20k of it, until now, without ever really using it.

Like, no way to actually use it for anything useful?

I think they should at least cut down the prices to somewhere around 50% of what they are now. If not more.

I have all my jobs at 99, but granted, only 1 "mastered".

Actually no. I think it would be worth doing because it would also allow future content to have more flexibility when it comes to rewards. I was actually not commenting on whether I thought they should do it or not (For once- I actually think they should)- I was only saying I didn't think they would- They probably won't because they already have a system that works for them even if it's more annoying for us. But they should becuase it would be a big quality of life improvement.
