Cannot Obtain Vana'Bout Title "Venerated Adventurer" with capped Plaudits.

1) I completed all objectives for Vana'Bout this season (total of 1420 Plaudits)
2) I tied with 1st place after the tally had been completed.
3) I was not given a title for my Vana'Bout participation.
4) The Moogle will not give me an option to do anything with my score except check the leaderboard.

Were the rankings viewed /after/ the run ended (while having recorded the score before the end)?

I'm not even sure I understand what you're asking. Was there something that we were supposed to do before it ended--you know, besides the Vana'Bout objectives?

Aside from registering the score so that your name is on the list, no, but the title is awarded only after viewing the rankings again, after the run has ended (but before the reward collection period ends, of course).

In other words, if you view the ranking right now, you should be able to obtain it.

Or at least that's how it worked last time still, no idea if anything changed regarding it this time.

I also don't remember if I got it immediately after the day change on the last day, or the next day from that, pretty sure it was immediately after.

So we can collect all of the rewards from the Moogle EXCEPT the title in this phase is what you're saying? That seems like a massive oversight or just a straight up bug. Literally makes zero sense as they don't explain any of that.

I do believe the title should be now available as well, since when the "Challenge Period" ended about 4 hours before my first post here.

I was wondering if you had last checked the rankings before that point.

If you check the rankings now again from the moogle's menu, and you still don't receive it after exiting said menu, I suppose there might indeed be something wrong with it especially if others report they already got it (though I don't know why they'd make the game wait for another day before making it available, but I don't know why they do a lot of things with the game, and yeah, I don't think they ever explained this in any case, or at least I don't remember seeing them to do so).

It is still the same, just talk to the coordinator moogle and view plaudit rankings, after you view it and exit the menus you should get a message "you have been awarded a special title, as you placed rank 10 or higher"

It's not anything you select on, after the viewing of plaudits and exiting of that list you should see the message.

If you have any chat filters you may not see the msg, have you just actually checked by going to status/profile and looking what your title is on the top of the screen after viewing the plaudit rankings and then exiting the list?

I never received a message about getting a title. I manually checked my title and it was unchanged.

Just another thing that could maybe check: See if the title isn't available via the title NPC person, Willah Maratahya at Mhaura (200 gil).

As for the *???*, those are players who opted to hide their names when recording their rank onto the list.

Since your name is on the list you registered anonymously so yes of course you would not get the title, you need to register with your name.

You would have to select the option for that when registering manually.

There is an option when registering: "yes, but anonymously" or "without my name" or something along those lines.

I do doubt it, but I also wouldn't be too surprised about it. Would be pretty evil in any case.

Makes no sense that I can still claim any reward still but not the title. Seems like an oversight and an issue. What's the point of making us register save for adding another needless step into the process?

I think the system is borrowed from Fish Ranking, where you submit fish as an entry, so after the submission period is over, it probably doesn't make sense that one could still submit new fish as a new entry...

Of course here I agree, that it makes no sense to limit the registration time, and can only guess that they didn't want to change the code for it to not break something completely unrelated.

The whole idea of requiring a perfect score in the first place is pretty bad, so I suppose it makes sense this part of it is pretty bad too... not that that is a good thing.
