1. The objective states: Unwanted Orbs (VBD) - “Trade used cosmic orbs to Shami the requisite number of times. Special Reward: 30 plaudits.”
2. The objective simply states “cosmic orb” and does not specify a particular type: micro- or macro- cosmic orb.
3. Completed Tails of Woe II using a micro- cosmic orb.
4. Traded used cosmic orb to Shami.
5. Plaudits were not rewarded.
6. Japanese midnight arrives shortly after and Vana’bout objectives roll over making it impossible to reach rank 1 title.
7. I’ve read elsewhere that the Japanese client specifies the correct type of cosmic orb but the English client does not as a translation error in the objective.

that tilte really just shouldn't exist or should not demand absolute perfection. many people aren't even able to complete all objectives because they don't have access to the required content. For instance, I haven't unlocked monster rearing since I basically never touched the mog garden. So every time that objective comes up, I lose plaudits.

If I'm reading things right-like, the Japanese client says:

コスミックオーブ

Or "kosumikkuoobu", or cosmic orb... so the English side isn't exactly wrong in that sense.

Thing is, "microcosmic orb" on the Japanese side is:

プラネットオーブ

Or "puranettooobu"... or planet orb.

There are bunches of such differences that are sure to trip translators not familiar enough with Vana'diel, or the English side of things at least. >.<

Thank goddess I'm done with it... though only on one server but not sure I'm going to want it on ther others. ^^;

Does SE realize: If they wanted the help of the community they'd just have to ask? Free volunteers would pop up in hundreds. I'd sign any NDA to help with the quality of things like this. It took me 2 seconds to ask myself "Whats a cosmic orb?"

Reduction of the plaudits needed per tier solves the plaudit issue but does NOT address the issue of those that are going after the title need to do every single quest, at least on asura, if you don't do every single one, you will not be tied for rank 1 and you will not get the title. Top 10 get the title venerated adventurer but in the case of tie, if there is a 15 way tie for 1st place, the 16th person is not 2nd but 16th. Thereby the ONLY way to get the title on asura is to tie for 1st place, aka do ALL objectives.
