Thief AF 6 (feet) problems

i ran into a bit of a pickle trying to thief AF
so my character is actively on the quest "hitting the marquisate"
i have all the other pieces of gear for AF.
when i talked to Nanaa Mihgo i recieved the "Cat Burglar's note" and see it in key items
I went to Yatniel and traded him 4 x quake grenades
Now here is where i am running into a problem.
Hagain when i speak to him does not give me the bomb incense, i have maxed fame in windhurst/Mhuara/tenshodo
I do not see the Bomb incense in my key items(just in case i got that far before my last break from the game)
I tried interacting with the spots in Garlaige just in case i missed it in my key items list and they don't do anything....

Im not sure if im missing something ive been referencing the BG wiki entry:

Ive retalked to all the NPC's multiple times, i tried zoning and day wait for Hagain, Ive tried interacting with the ???

I don't know if im missing something important or not getting something or if my character is legitimately softlocked on this quest.

I forgot i checked BG wiki and ffxiclopedia and hagain does not seem to be related to any other quests.

You're missing something. virtually all "i can't complete this quest" issues can be resolved by retracing your steps, checking your current and completed quests lists, and checking your key items. If it's a chain of quests, retrace your steps from the previous quest in the line, going to all the NPCs and doing all the things ad if you'd never previously done it, until you get to where you think you're supposed to be.

I've helped people identify quests they already completed and just didn't remember doing, people who were further along in / not as far along in a quest as they thought, skipped a step, didn't trade an item, misrememebred prerequisites, etc. etc. FFXI is a very cryptic game and there are tons of fine details that can get in the way of progression.

You're not softlocked, 99.99% certain.

Yeah, i went back and did all that, you cant start the quest and obtain the item from Nanaa Mihgo until you complete all the previous quests, i also have all of the items from the previous quests(the other AF) i tried interacting with everyone on the quest ... thats why i listed how they responded. I agree with you im most likely not softlocked but im stumped on where to look or what to try next. I cannot reset the AF quest until you finish them all so i cant do the route of starting over and redoing them either.

This also isn't a technical issue when it comes to this technical issues forum (not meant for in-game issues like this, but like, trouble-shooting the game client not running).

Also, would suggest if/when filing a bug or such report, use the actual names of items. I've been here since 2005 and I'm not sure what "AF 6 (feet)" actually refers to! Though I can kind of guess without looking it up. That written, the people processing these officially have probably been here for a much less of that time (and maybe work with FF14 more), and they likely need to translate it to Japanese in addition, so I would advice using the actual game terms as much as possible. ^^
