Greetings,

Every time I login to my SE account (via web browser) I’m getting the error 24202.

To reproduce the error:
• I visit https://secure.square-enix.com/account/app/svc/authoriBase
• I enter my ID and password
• I check “I’m not a robot” and then click on the “Log In” button
• A new page appears where I type in my “One-Time Password” (from SE Token) and click on the “Log In” button.

After that, the website displays “Error (-24202) A Technical issue has occurred. Try accessing the site again. If the issue still has not been resolved, please contact the Square Enix Support Center”.

I then have to click on the “Proceed to Top Page” button (below the error message) and type in my credentials and one-time password once more (as described above) in order to succeed with the login process.

Why do I have to type me credentials twice to login to the SE management website? What is this error 24202 about?

Thanks in advance,
Regards,

Mike

mind telling which browser you used?

Also, might be good idea to try others. I have 4 browser on mine PC atm (Edge/Firefox/Chrome/Brave), & would just switch between them whenever similar error occured. I know this is odd, but certain web only works on certain browser, while I rather use other ones for performance side. Usually SE sites were rather finicky outside Edge/Firefox.

Greetings Bobbin,

I have been using MS Edge all the time (and it is the only browser installed). I'm using Windows 10 Home version 22H2 (19045.5854). Edge was version 136.0.3240.92 and got updated today towards version 137.0.3296.52, but the issue persists.

Thanks for the suggestion of using other browser.

In this case, SE's rather old system may not be playing nicely with newer browsers, much like how some newer websites don't play nicely with Firefox, which has a different rendering engine from most of the others.

No, it's not browser-based, I can reproduce the issue on Firefox 128.10.1esr.

My best guess here is it's a bad URL; it's referring your login through a context that the system can't quite make sense of. Then it directs you to log out, and the link that returns you to the login screen passes a context that it understands. I don't have any kind of inside knowledge of the system so I couldn't begin to explain how you can have a link that's both valid enough to show you a login screen and invalid enough for the server to throw a fit, but I remember having an issue like this when I had a typo in the address I was using.

Just use the link straight off the Final Fantasy XI site, https://secure.square-enix.com/account/app/svc/login?cont=account, and you should be able to log in without this issue.

(If you're properly paranoid and don't want to click or copy that, look for a red button at the top right corner on the EU or US FFXI homepage, http://www.playonline.com/ff11eu/index.shtml or http://www.playonline.com/ff11us/index.shtml)
