Why was screenshot contest changed to X and bluesky only?

Before you could submit it here on the official forums. Now it's even MORE complicated to do. You have to post with the hashtags AND fill out a specific form on SE's site to submit it. Double the work of before. Please change future screenshot contests back where we can just submit it here on the official forums.

Much as I hate to say it, the screenshot contests don't have a lot of point if few other than players of the game can see the screenshots. From this angle social media is the best option.

Then what is the point of official forums, for just bug reports? They should just close official forums and make it only on X and bluesky then

Honestly, if ever being part of the other side of forum, which is FF14's, it's much easier to get perma-banned, granted on FF14 side can be a bit brutal with discussions, a thing that makes FF11 actually seems rather tamer. Hence why entries on other platform like X are much appreciated, plus... majority has more access to it than forum anyways, as other says as well.

As personal example of being also banned from FF14 forum, also did manage to win contest prizes from X's submitted entries, albeit there's also other platform requires on other contest such as twitch streamings, which I personally find not so enjoyable, let's just hope FF11's doesn't have to come to that.

I had not really realised yet that this one did not get a forums version (yet).

I don't mind that they use those platforms in addition to the forums, but not doing it on the forums as well excludes... you know... actual players from it all (who do not, for a reason or another, venture near said platforms).

So yeah, a big 'bööö' on that from me!

While the sentiment is understandable, unfortunately forum were also currently in its decline compared to decades ago, mainly due to how ease the access of current social platforms, especially discord which really caters to gamer (not to mention the co-founder were also FF11 player, or used to, and part of the platform designs was inherited of what he did previously with Guildwork). X is also another that's more approachable to masses (albeit their recent conduct were being questionable).

Wish I could support forum more, but let's face it: this kind of platform were too limited, added with how things going on over FF14 side which mostly having odds with their player-base & the bans were much more severe compared to FF11's.
