Last time I was here was apparently in August of 2009.

Is Valefor still populated?

If not, do I seriously have to pay to transfer off a dead world?

I have up to Wings of the Goddess. When the campaign ends, if I buy the complete edition to update my account, will I get any free time with it?

Thanks.

Welcome back!

I'm back too, despite trying to protest Square-Enix.

You will have to pay to transfer yes, but with the discount campaign its half off.

Buying the expansion/full collection won't add more time to an existing account.

Valefor is probably very low population, but every server has communities, just a matter of finding them.

(There are benefits to smaller servers, just as there are benefits for larger ones, just depends on your playstyle. I personally prefer smaller servers.)

Welcome back!

To add to what has been said, you can do

/sea all

to see how many people are on your current server at a time.

I have no personal experience nor any other data but intuition to go by, but I'd guess it will be around 200-800 on Valefor, similar to most of the servers.

I personally like those numbers more than the up to or over 3000 that Asura can be seen at still (well, recently only checked after the freebietime started).

Thanks for the info both of you!

Yeah, I don't mind small. I just don't wanna be the only one on the server. lol

I'll try that /sea all command too.

Every server has people on it. It depends entirely on what your personal needs are. You can do any content you like on any world you like if you join a linkshell or know people you can ask for help. But large swaths of content can be done solo with trust if needed. While you will find more real people on a bigger server, you will also find more botters / multiboxers which inflates the numbers. You should play and join because you want to play the game, not because anyone else is doing it, in my humble opinion. I've been on shiva forever, and its a relatively quiet server, but I can still get stuff done. You doin't need to transfer to a popular server to enjoy the game.

You only get free game time with purchase on a new account- buying expansions has never granted extra game time.
