What is the new Moogle Iris from Mog Bonanza

Anyone know exactly what the new Mog Bonanza reward 'Moogle Iris' is or what it does? It sounds like it will be an item that is used to +1/HQ the Mog Bonanza Rank 1 Weapons, but that would also mean that you would have to win Rank 1 two times for it to be useful? Seems like lightning striking twice.

Ask again after the May version update, those reforged weapons and the moogle iris itself should be added to the game and their information mined after that. If not, it'll be June's update.

There's been speculation that there will be a secondary way to obtain the bonanza weapons, making the iris useful for that.

However, having to win the mog bonanza twice to get a reforged weapon is kind of consistent with the sortie earring +2 situation, that just seems to be the kind of disrespectful design we get sometimes, so I'm not sure I'm optimistic.

I see that FFXIAH.com added the upgraded Mog Bonanza weapon information. Seems to be an increase in Base Damage, Attributes, and Skill level after using the Iris, which is cool! However, has anyone gleaned any additional information regarding these weapons? Hoping if they are adding Moogle Iris, then there must be an alternative method to obtain either the Mog Bonanza weapons or the Moogle Iris, otherwise it does seem super unreasonable.

There's a kupon for bonanza weapons in the update data, but it hasn't been announced as a bonanza prize, which suggests that at some point in the not-too-distant future there will be some alternate distribution method by which the kupon, and by extension the weapons, can be obtained. Just what, exactly, this is going to be... anyone's guess. I'd be inclined to think "top ten scores in Vana'bout", but that seems like something that would have been announced in advance.

Good eye! Didn't notice that Kupon. How exciting that would be if that were true. I would love to get the Onion Knight III Sword so it's easier for jobs without Naegling to play in content like Odyssey C Segment runs.

Looks like we were right! If you log in/change zones as of today 5/16/2025, you will automatically get the Kupon W-MOGB which is exchangable for any of the Mog Bonanza weapons! Just picked up the Onion Knight III Sword. This is awesome!

How long will this last? I have a friend who is camping this weekend and she's worried she'll miss the free weapon! Does anyone know for sure? Does she have the weekend perhaps? Or is it 24 hours only?

It wasn't announced, it was just something that sort of happened, so the only way we'll know it's over is somebody logging in and not getting the kupon. The timing suggests it's tied to the Adventurer Appreciation Campaign, so I'd say it's probably safe to assume it'll be up as long as free login is, but best not to put it off too long.

It was announced during the 70th mogivana, as they made it go live [1], too, and if I'm not hearing too wrong-like, it'll be happening until the next version update.
