Stuff like this is wild to me.......and perhaps sheds light on bigger issue (Not much care goes into BST)

How does obsolete content have better jug pets than BST? Now, I am not referring to MONs being two whole jobs, and can use Mighty Strikes and all that jazz.....but the abilities.

The Coeurls are one example, why do you skimp out on so many abilities for jug pets....it makes no sense. Would Pounce be game breaking? I mean, it could probably SC Fusion.....That is about it.

The Coeurls are amazing MB pets with the right gear, but removing so many abilities just to put put them in content you admittedly have no plans to support pretty much says how you feel about BST lol.....Again, the jug pets highlight a bigger BST issue imo.

BST is not this job on the cusp of being broken, like you may think. Throw BST some bones, or pretend it is Samurai.......

Ninja displayed how devs should handle jobs.

"How do players play it? Lets adjust to them"

Vs.....

"How do we want them to play it"

25k players playing the game > Devs belief how a game should be played.....unless you plan on paying for 25k subs.

Respectfully.........

(Please read to the end...)

How does obsolete content have better jug pets than BST?BST has buttons of its own, plus whatever you can get from a subjob, where Monstrosity monsters only have whatever SE deigned to give them and that's it. Monstrosity would have been really boring if the monsters you could play as only had three abilities with usage limitations and no spells. BST versions are "inferior" (I put that in quotes because monstrosity ends at level 99, there is no iLvl, JP or ML progression) because you also have the option of switching to other pets at any time, and you have access to main and subjob abilities/spells.

Now before you get mad at me for making that comment, I'm not saying BST doesn't need love, in fact it needs more than most other jobs, particularly since the butchering years ago when they limited command range. It's just an explanation of the likely logic behind it: Fun and Playability.

Having said that: BST needs to be revisited in a big way. I don't think i've even randomly come across someone playing it on Shiva in months if not years. I never really played it myself so I'm not qualified to say much about what should be done. But holy heck does BST need some love.

Really sorry u felt that way. Was a BST main myself back on WotG days, have total blast playing it, till start of SoA when the job got totally destroyed & felt helpless, had no choice but to abandon & goes for a more direct jobs like WAR & MNK at the time, especially with WAR after gotten the amazing RR gearset from Shinryu which was a huge boon for me to explore Vana'diel without fear of dying & sent back home. Even with current state of gearing options, still can't go back to BST anymore, hurting more with my hard work getting double Astolfos for months now being rendered total useless since not an actual Empy, plus now having access to trusts.

That said, having similar beast then have the inferior version from the wild ones isn't really something new, usually for balance. Even the quite recent Final Fantasy 16 for example, after battling Odin then getting it's primal access & seeing their arsenal access felt way inferior that it's cinematic battle versions, is just one of examples, otherwise game would be too gimp if can easily swipe/nuke the crowds with same level of strength on the wild versions.
