So, I've been drove around America a bunch since a few years ago and I noticed I could use wardrobe 3 equipment while it was in wardrobe 3 even after my subscription ran out, but now I can't when we came to this side of America. That being said, wardrobes need to work in this manner or else I will never have enough space for all my ambuscade gear and relics. I will continently need to keep replacing gear in my Mog safe in order to function properly. Wardrobe 3 should also be unlocked free so we could use only 1 more wardrobe to solve all our existing problems.

Wardrobes can't be sued while not active, otherwise people would just stuff them full and then cancel them, defeating the purpose. If you were able to, that's a bug.

probably stopped paying for it but the next month had yet to roll over.

wish SE would at least let us use all previously unlocked wardrobes in our moghouse at least.

We shouldn't have to pay for extra space in the first place. Final Fantasy is limiting are ability to play efficiently. It's manipulative and it comes at a cost. You seem like you're just better for business than what the consumer wants or needs to happen. Why are one-time fees the issue. The game needs to be free to play for as much money as they have ripped everyone off for to scribble together a bunch of words and make it seem meaningful when really, they studder too much and it becomes the issue. If you ask me, it's a cheap game and limiting factors should make it cheaper not become part of the issue. Consumer also had the ability to take out the wardrobe 3 item and never put it back in the wardrobe in the first place. I think you're wrong.

We shouldn't have to pay for extra space in the first place.Well, people do.

larger inventories use more memory and increase the load on the servers, which is part of the reason why it took so long to get extra inventory space at all.

This is no different than FFXIV charging for additional retainers. It's a revenue stream that helps keep the game going. We don't have to like it, but... it is what it is, and SE isn't likely to want to change something that's making money because of a few disgruntled customers (I'm not, only because I have no need for the wardrobes, but I'd probably be grumpy about it if I did need it).

The game isn't going free to play. A free to play game still needs a revenue stream (like... charging for extra inventory space, which many free to play games do), which means they'd need to add an paid item shop like other modern online games. Do you really want that? The subscription fee allows us not to have crap like that in this game. There's no such thing as a free lunch. Even in an F2P game, somebody has to spend money for it to keep running.

You seem belligerent towards players of ffxi. Why would they offer 100% of players the option for so many wardrobes if it were going to affect their server? I totally just do not agree with anything you're saying.

the impact on servers is negligable.
SE likes profits to increase. increasing the base cost of the game or per character would be met with outrage, but adding wardrobes at a premium would not, so that's what they went with.

I simply think that a player who thinks about returning to the game when told about a Return To Vana'diel event, will instead re-quit when they realize they have no way of making use of a piece of important gear they placed in wardrobe3~8 instead of paying SE for their account, character, and wardrobe in question.
If it were accessible in a very limited number of areas regardless (mog house only), then there's a better chance they'd stick around. Better still would be if Return to Vana'diel reactivated unlocked wardrobes as well to streamline to process of getting a former player hooked back into FFXI again.

Options like this are offered with the understanding that not everyone will take it. Initially there were 2 wardrobes. They added more because they determined that they could since not everyone would need to use them.

I'm not being "belliegerent," I'm simply speaking the truth. Everything is done a certain way for a reason.

As I said before, you can't have your cake and eat it too. They can't just make everything free- the game has to make money to keep running.

I don't agree with this assessment, because it is made clear when you sign up that you can only use it as long as you pay for it. If you bought into it, you have no right to be mad later when you come back and neglect to reactivate it.

I still think paying for a wardrobe should unlock putting items into the wardrobe and equipping items from the wardrobe, but taking items out of the wardrobe should always be an option. It kind of feels like they're holding your gear for ransom if you've stored it in a wardrobe and then can't access it because you didn't pay up.

I agree with this.
