Anyone on Paladin wearing reforged Empyrean Body (Chevalier's Cuirass) may randomly take an unusually high amount of damage from any weapon skill performed by a humanoid foe. Best examples are all the Fomors in Sortie and all the Fomors in Dynamis Divergence Wave 3.

Examples:
Disjoined Galka, Calamity, 9273 damage
Volte Crusader, Sanguine Blade, 17538 damage
Volte Conductor, Dancing Edge, 5943 damage
Volte Sniper, Last Stand, 3393 damage
Disjoined Galka, Spinning Axe, 6519 damage <- This is with Phalanx up AND a shield block!

Ouch, right through my Phalanx.

Over the previous 2+ years there have been numerous reports about this issue. I've abolished this piece of armor and replaced it with Eschite Breastplate because I really don't like being randomly bonked for no reason. With Eschite Breastplate, it has never happened again.

My guess: It may have something to do with the calculation involving "Mitigates dmg. based on enmity". I'm curious though if there's any difference on how humanoid mobs calculate enmity, or whatever the effect of the calculation does to the modifiers of weapon skills performed by Fomors. Perhaps, in some cases, the enmity numbers are so high, that the calculation overflows somehow - and instead of mitigating anything, it increases the damage received.

This has been a well documented bug since the gear came out. Certainly would be nice if it would get fixed

Please spend a little extra time looking into this. It's very frustrating for PLD players and widely known in the various forum communities. We want the +Enmity and the Spell Interruption rate down on a piece with current defense/magic evasion/magic defense bonus. The variable Damage Taken is not considered valuable since it's what many suspect leads to their deaths and does not break the traditional cap of 50%. Removing it would be an acceptable solution.

This one brings some new information to light. If I'm reading things correctly, the bug seems to be specifically related to monsters using weapon skills. Warder of Fortitude uses Vorpal Blade, fomors use a variety of weapon skills, and these seem to be what cause the problem.

Is that enough to make the issue actionable this time?

It's been known that only humanoid weaponskills do it. There's nothing new here except confirmation the warder does it too.

It can, but due to the low level of the thingy, it's barely noticeable. When debugging, I would focus on Dyna only, because the numbers are extreme there.

Please fix this! This is a fantastic piece but I avoid using it because it's not worth the headache!

It's a shame that the body is bugged like this, and has been for years. I hope they look this way and fix it at some point, because no job should have a glitch like this occurring with what's supposed to be their ultimate armor.
