Adoulin Elementals DON'T SPAWN - aka Weather Issues

I recently only really got into FFXI in 2020; so everything is new to me more or less. When I got to Treasures of Aht Urgan, I unlocked BLU as soon as possible, and made it my mission to unlock every BLU spell before I continued with the story. Currently, I'm at 179/196. The last few I need seem to require a group (the Naakuals destroyed me when I tried to solo one...). The only non-group ones I need are some of the Adoulin Elementals, namely the fire and the wind. It snows all the damn time in some zones so I frequently run into the ice ones; and the darkness ones suprisingly showed up quite frequently in Ra'kaznar.

However, I check in with the weather guy in East Adoulin every chance I get, and Firey weather NEVER pops. Likewise, the most out of wind I'll ever get is "chance of gales" or something to that effect, which doesn't seem to DO anything. I've gone to the zones with that weather and searched high and low for any Elementals -- no luck.

I found the Adoulin elementals spawn in a secret room in the Shrine of Ru-avitau, and after days of nagivating my way through that place, find out THEY DON'T USE TP ABILITIES THERE. WHY? Now I'm back to waiting for weather that never spawns.

IS there some kind of unknown trick that I'm missing, or can they fix it so more varied weather spawns more frequently? Can they make it so the Adoulin Elementals in the Shrine of Ru'Avitau use their TP abilities? Is there an external website that tracks Vana'diel weather? Help!

They're up 100% of the time in vagary and skirmish. Dozens of all elements.

i've done a waterway skirmish, no elementals. ive done a yorcia skirmish based off an old forum post, no elementals. am I missing something?

Try the Yorcia ALLUVION Skirmish.

Alternatively, you can also go to respective Gates zones, like Moh Gates, Sih Gates, Doh Gates, etc...and wait until the weather and Elemental you're looking for appears.

Note, the Adoulin elementals are Elemental mobs that are 2-types, so Fire/Light Elementals would appear in Moh Gates (the lava zone) during Fire Weather and those Elements due the fire/light spell "Blinding Fulgor".

I tried this for awhile; but after like 5 in game days; Wind popped maybe 3 times in the Sih Gates; the first time it lasted awhile but it took me forever to find where the Elemental was spawned, and by the time I got to it the weather ended and it depsawned. So I waited around for 5 in game days; and the next two times Wind popped, it lasted not even 5 real world minutes; and I was only able to tag one elemental before it ended and couldn't get the spell that way. Was going crazy.


Try the Yorcia ALLUVION Skirmish.

Yea that would have been really helpful from the beginning, but I got the spells thanks to you, so thank you.
After the initial skirmishes had no elementals, I was like "I've been lied to" and went down a rabbit hole, finding old forums posts and relics across the internet; figuring out how Skirmish even WORKED. I spent 100s of thousands of gil for the items to do Yorcia Weald Alluvion Skirmish, and I kept dying because those damn butterflys kept ganging up on me. The elementals I needed didn't even spawn the first few runs I tried, so I was losing faith and getting frustrated, but the last two runs, even tho i died the first time and "wasted the items," i got ONE of the spells I needed, and it gave me the strength to drop more cash and keep going; and viola! I have all the elemental spells now and never have to do Skirmish again lol.

Had you looked into it more/better you couldve found how to force spawn all elementals for like 10k I just didnt want to explain that much

damn... that's a bit unfair considering the wikis containing all the information for this game is inaccurate/incomplete; half the things i learned are from brief or vague forum threads that are like 15+ years old.

Can't remember these things too well, but I think those perhaps have an effect on them?
