I just had an open ticket with play online customer service and finally was able to log in to play the game after 12 years of being inactive. 10/9/24 scheduled server maintenance booted me from within the game, and now I am receiving the error "FFXI -3202 your character data may be damaged" I believe I had encountered this problem many years ago and could not log into my main character for Months!!!##! now I call technical support they claim they have never heard of the error and recommend I create a bug report and contact a GM within the game on another character, which I am unable to contact a GM the option is no longer available. who is going to resolve this server issue????? I am about to just cancel my subscription if I cannot have this resolved. honestly I will not wait months in order to have this resolved and nobody is actively working these issues from what I have gathered. paying a subscription fee for this type of customer support will not be tolerated and you will lose a lifetime customer

Unfortunately, the only people who will be able to help with this is the support people via these links:

EU: https://support.eu.square-enix.com/main.php?la=2&id=455
US: https://support.na.square-enix.com/main.php?la=1&id=20
JP: https://support.jp.square-enix.com/index.php

All I can do is fish you luck!

If they still try to send you back here, I suppose all you can do is tell them they send you back to them from here...

Generally, the few times I had to deal with the SqEX support, I did only have good expeiriences... so I can only hope you will from this point onward as well...

Best of luck!

Good morning and thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XI Technical Forums.

The issue you are describing may be associated with corruption of local game data. Please try the following troubleshooting methods to resolve the issue:

Please navigate to 'Program Files(x86)' > 'PlayOnline' > 'SQUARE ENIX' > 'FINAL FANTASY XI' > 'USER' and copy this 'USER' folder so it may be stored elsewhere as a backup. Once complete, proceed to remove sub folders out of this main folder one by one (Not the backup) so you may determine where the corrupt file might be when loading the affected character.

Alternatively, we may recommend removing the folder completely and performing a file check from the PlayOnline Viewer so the client may recreate/restore this folder. Please be advised that removing the 'USER' folder will also remove any macros that may have been created.

We hope this information is helpful. Thank you for visiting the Final Fantasy XI Technical Support Forums!

All steps performed including the file check on playOnline viewer and the error code and problem still persist

It might be worth trying the other file check, via the config utility, as it seems to behave slightly different from the PlayOnline Viewer one.

That said, I don't think this is going to be a local issue still, but rather a server-side one.
