bonanza getting 1 or 2 marbles at freaking 200k is rediculous, and trove being 500k for 5 silver vouchers that pretty much is a mic everytime is draining the money and killing us.

You get ~1M / day from Odyssey Sheol C, though?

I don’t get 1 million per day, maybe 400k, but on top of that, I get 2 million a week from just playing (sparks/accolades).

I also get like 80k per day from Mog garden.

Then 44k per moon orb
A 1:1.2 ratio of conquest points to Gil.

Which is on average, 820,000 Gil per day?

So Gil is fine I think.

I would like to see, instead, the Kupon-RMEA in bonanza, so it’s actually worth doing in the first place.

Wow, what are you doing with your mog garden that generates 80k a day? I considered it a good day when I got 15k worth of vendor trash, and pretty much just gave up on the whole thing after hitting rank 7 on everything.

To the larger point though, there isn't a whole lot that takes gil out of the FFXI economy. Home point warps, crafting ingredients, the million-gil crafting materials for reforged armor. More leaves circulation because people stop playing than because it's spent with an NPC. Meanwhile, there are just so many things adding a pile of gil to the economy; Odyssey and sparks alone account for millions per character per week, even averaging out the ones who don't do one or the other.

The more money that enters an economy without being removed, the more net force there is for inflation, making everything that isn't NPC-controlled more expensive because people have more gil, so they can pay more for things, so people selling can charge more for those things. This doesn't matter much to well-established players who have a bucket under a lot of these gil faucets, but it can make essential purchases very difficult to acquire for new players just starting out.

So, you put some stuff in the game that destroys gil, make it enticing to players who have a lot of gil, and use that as a control. The aforementioned crafting materials did the job for a while, but silver vouchers and bonanza pearls are the big controls now. I'd argue that they're not doing enough; maybe instead of two marbles at 200k each, we should be allowed to buy up to ten, with the first costing 100k and each afterward being another 100k more expensive - 200k, 300k, up to a million gil for the tenth. Maybe we should be allowed a further five silver vouchers, at 250k gil each.

Kinda shocked to see someone complaing gil is an issue in this day and age, maybe it is for a new starter, but thats a rite of passage, you should get to a stage where you need to spend very little (unless you buy everything and never farm).

On a secondary note, why do I see people saying rediculous? Not being judgemental ot pedantic, I'm just curious as I've seen it many times, is it an internet thing I've missed, why the incorrect spelling? why not ridiculous? just so curious

Tons of materials worth hundreds of millions of gil are lost every day by those of us that have fully completed crafting shields. Make one and you'll see.

That's nice. You may lose hundreds of millions of gil, but whoever you bought your materials from suddenly has an extra layer or two of coins to sleep on in their dragon hoard. Do you think they're going to need to keep buying stuff forever, or will they eventually have everything they want, cap on gil, and stop farming for you? How long until everybody currently keeping the market afloat decides they have enough, and people who value their time a bit more have to pick up the slack? It may take years, but inevitably that's going to either drive prices up or make it impossible to just buy your materials. The system is only indefinitely sustainable if there are balances to keep everyone hungry.

I forgot about nyame and the other Odyssey gear, that stuff did a pretty good job for a while, though now most servers probably have the price worn down low enough to let newer players access that gear, in turn making it a less effective money sink. Might be time for another set of stuff like that, though it would be hard to make it worth buying without just invalidating all the Odyssey stuff. (Specialty stats maybe? Something summoner might actually have a reason to wear?)

Wow, what are you doing with your mog garden that generates 80k a day?.

I think you make 40-50k just from the nodes at rank 7.

Then if you pour coalition serum (purchased with bayld) on the mineral vein, it produces significantly more darksteel ore.

If you trade darksteel ore to Mighty Fist in Metalworks he gives you 8,000 gil for every 2 ore you trade him.

You will typically get on average 8 ore per day, some days maybe 6, some days maybe 12, which equates to roughly 32,000 gil just from darksteel ore.

40k+32k 72k.

Obviously it varies, but on average you will get about 80k.

On days you get an adamantoise shell, thats 14k alone.

There are other ways to dramatically increase your gil earned by using other items in other locations, some free, some taking a trek into other locations in Vana'diel, and can bump the number much much higher if you sell items on AH as well.

Mog garden has been my favorite content in this game for the longest now. I pretty much do it literally every day.

Just like in real life, the more you make the higher your spending demands become.

So you always have money / gil issues.

can one get that with pure ambu gearsets? From new player perspectives.

If you go with a party that can, and will bring you with them then yes.

I for one go with a small group of players that are well geared above Ambuscade gear, and we are getting like 450k.

We need more gear and or different job options to increase that number.

Rare do I buy the materials I synth with, I normally farm them. So availability is not an issue for me. There technically is no cap to gil, if you keep making mules unlocking garden, each mule can store 1g below 2B.
