View Full Version : All Kupowers Permanently Active

I know most people do not even look at the active kupowers for the most part, but it heavily affects a very small community within the game.

Recently, I've fallen in love with speedrunning FFXI, but one major inhibitor are active kupowers. Now, maybe the rules of speedrunning FFXI need to change on speedrun.com, and it may be the simpler solution. However, speedrunning even just to defeating the Shadow Lord is around a 6-7 hour endeavor, and that is mostly through the use of "Gain EXP" RoE with kupowers such as "Treasure Hound" that greatly speed up tasks such as gathering Bee Pollen to get the first RoV KI or gathering Fetich pieces from quadav if running Bastok. These are not game-breaking powers and are even all active during the anniversary event.

The reason I ask for all kupowers to be active and no longer require tablets to be found is because almost no one explores on the lower population servers. In fact, only about half or even less than the servers currently have kupowers. Most of the lowest population servers do not have kupowers for long periods at a time.

Maybe the simplest solution is changing the rules of speedrunning, but that would remove runs from 5-6 years ago. With the addition of many QoL updates, I feel kupowers could use an update seeing as they were implemented over a decade ago with no updates in the past decade that I am aware of. Just thought I'd throw out the idea as it seems relatively harmless and a nice QoL for all players.
