It seems that Square Enix has never been, and will likely never be one for transparency or responsiveness towards us, the useres, in which sense this is "working as intended". I don't think anything will ever change regarding that, but I do hope this will at least be forwarded out there, somewhere, for someone involved in this process to read. ^^
I am glad that we have the ability to report bugs via these forums at all, and that there is some visibility to us about the resolution... sometimes (via which forum a report is moved to).
However wishful thinking it may be, it would be nice to have some feedback on reports that go to "working as intended" specifically.
In recent times, I've started to wonder if that forum also gets reports placed into where the issue is known/confirmed, and while what was reported is not really intended, fixing it would require resources that are not available (something like "WONTFIX" or "CANTFIX").
Some examples that went to "working as intended", that seem varying degrees of odd for that, are Sakura biscuit text having changed from "ピヨ!" to "??!" [1], fishing being possible on dry land [2], incorrect alter ego names being displayed in the chat [3] (which was previously confirmed, twice, albeit not moved to Confirmed/Planning to Address, but it was at least being investigated; I suppose they never managed to re-produce it in production, or they gave up on it), and the menu cursor following the second (horizontal) chat window [4].
These have also made me wonder if I was somehow unclear in describing the conditions and/or the issue in general, and if there was any kind of feedback to our general direction, we would be able to clarify if need be.
There are [5] others [6] too (etc., could probably go on for a while), where it seems quite odd indeed if they really are intended to work as they do.
When I tried the "Eyre Cap", it did work for me, so I suspect it was either fixed betwixt the report and people reading the report, or there was something else amiss... in which case it was simply moved to an inappropriate forum. "Fixed" or "Unable to Verify" would probably have made more sense for that, from which the latter could also explain some of the other reports.
So, if there really are features that are not exactly working as intended, but they can not be fixed for a reason or another, an additional forum would help clarify things out (something along the lines of "Can Not Fix").
Even better would of course be to (also) receive feedback, some kind of reasoning towards the resolution of a report.
Thank you!
