I was playing ToAU missions today and I saw these piles of gold in a cutscene with Gessho today.

Could we have them as a fun, quirky furnishing?
Maybe it could also give a boost to Exemplar points gain? or Gil? +5%?
I'm just trying to think outside of the box for more fun and silly things.

I suggested that years ago, mountain of gil, which changes size depending how much gil you hold on character

I'll take any new furnishings that have any new/interesting added effect whatsoever. I just wish new items had some interesting effect, anything at all. I wish SE would bring back weapons with cool additional effects.

The changing size thing would probably be really difficult to implement. It would also probably have to stay within its actual tile size as if that could change it would cause all kinds of issues.
However the idea itself of just having a pile of gil/gold/whatever as a furnishing? That's a great idea.

I suppose they could tweak the Chocobo Bedding to make it look like something valuable. ^^
One problem with interesting furnishing effects is, depending on how they do it, one may need to pretty much clear their main mog house floor for it due to the aura strength, or get a lot of that one item... because that seems sensible and good for our inventories...
Could use the Prismatic Chest as one example, with which I stopped bothering and instead have my Aurum Coffer around (not that I've ever gotten anything too interesting from them).
It might be a bit hefty of an ordeal at this point in time, and unlikely to happen even it was, but I think it would be nice to be able to simply select the active effect, possibly from a list of the items currently set into the house (that is, ignore the elemental strength bit completely, which I never enjoyed at all).
