Anything but costume weapons, please?

I think we have enough costume / costume-effect weapons. There are 121 of these items, across Mainhand weapon categories, shown below. I did not bother to add the 4 Ranged and 3 Throwing/Ammo related costume items, which would bring us to 128. (The criteria I used is "Level 1" and "All Jobs" and yes, some of these have a very niche use, but enough is enough!)

I would literally rather play "Where's Waldo?", where you hide an NPC across Vanadiel that we have to find, than to collect another weapon, to be stored on a slip, never see the light of the day again.

P.S. While, I have your attention, can we have a way to obtain a Rainbow and Gold Mog Pell once again? Perhaps something obtained at X days of /playtime if not obtained through specific content?

What I didn't understand is why rainbow mog pells were not offered with all the new items SE is selling, ie the kraken club, music boxes, etc. Including a rainbow mog pell code with any of those and they would sell alot more.

Why complain about this? Its something to incentivize login campaigns or certain content, who cares about them adding vanity items especially when you don't really have an alternative you are offering.

Weirdly, I kinda agree with this.
They're not like something you HAVE TO TAKE/HAVE to play the game.
They are just costume: i.e. just for show with no real discernable use other than show-flair.
With no other alternative suggestions for these items (Some people I have seen actually DO have them in their lockstyle sets, so they DO want them), then do what I do and act like a Tatooine person when the stormtroopers look at you and say *Kkrrck, Move Along.... Kkrrck, move Along..." and ignore them.

But they were rewards for buying a real life item, so you are basically asking for a cash shop. Either that or you asking for... more vanity/costume items.. Doesn't make much sense in context of your thread.

There's a difference between Level 1 All Jobs H2H with counter+5 via login points and other cosmetic items that are hidden behind mog pells. For example, like Nomad/Moogle Cap can AoE warp your whole party (to their Mog house). Other pells give 50k GP or CP. (Also, please note, I mention items from Pells due to their rarity and reputation for being "unobtainium" in 2024. In no way, did I say, I want a "cash shop". Give me a break here).

I'm starting to think that the folks who post are just contrarians or SE community staff is making up for their lack of an official presence or inability to change anything?

Literally, every suggestion is met with hostility from "players" and silence from the Community Staff. This is so extremely discouraging.

Look, while we sit here and argue over the semantics of what constitutes a vanity weapon, SE is giving us another Master Trial next month that very few people want.

If you give a crap about this game, like my post and at least show SE that players are unified in (some) of their opinions.

Your post just wasn't good, sorry. You are basically telling them to stop adding new vanity items to the game (some of the only "new" skins we are getting) and nothing to replace it. You are hurting people who enjoy those things for no reason when it costs almost no resources for them to do it. I think the mog pells would be nice to obtain, most of them are useless today overall, but for vanity item reasons lol. Who cares about warps like that when we all have literally free warps and homepoints?

Not really. I just wanted proof, out in the open, completely visible for everyone to see. Let it be a mirror which reflects back onto the viewer, as a wanton reminder of your antagonizing behavior. I understand your frustration but I have to agree with the others on this. If you want to complain about something like this, offer an alternative. Something is better than nothing, so what do you propose they offer instead that can be used by anybody?

Part of the reason the campaigns introduced so many of these items though, is because people now actually use these things to change their look, whereas back in the old days you rarely saw any of the cosmetic items that existed because lockstyle didn't exist. Now that it's much easier to use these vanity items without affecting performance, people can get more creative about their appearance which people have enjoyed in FFXIV for much longer. So I'm personally glad that more such options have been made available through these campaigns.

It's also not fair to consider the +1s seperately, they're the same item with some sort of enchantment added. Even with all these vanity weapons, it doesn't come close to the number of cosmetic choices players have had in FFXIV since the glamour system first began, so as long as it doesn't get in the way of any other feature updates too much (it seems like new items are among the easiest ways for them to update the game), I'm really not bothered. That said, as I noted at the beginning, if you have alternatives I'd love to hear them.
