Signatures

I've been on many forums and understand the rules to Signatures etc. Text works, but when trying to place a link for a pic...I can't get my signature to work for the life of me, any help with this please?

Links simply don't work, not just image links, other links as well. It's why the names in my signature aren't clickable. Don't know for what reason though.

What I want to know is why they put so much whitespace ABOVE the signature line.
