Where's my chocobo?

I haven't played in over 3 years and then it wasn't serious playing, maybe only a month. over 10 years ago (I think), I got a chocobo, but I don't think I got the chocobo whistle from it. I remember giving it a name and working with it a little but due to real life situations, I had to stop playing. Is my chocobo still alive and if so, where do I find it? I've checked the stable in San D'oria and the stable in Jeuno and I have no idea where it could be.

Hantileon at the San d'Oria chocobo stables would be the one to ask. If the raising process was still on-going, he'll say it was retired.
