I'm still have seen any Beastmaster jug pet updates from 2021 when 6 jug pets were added that buff the master/player. You asked for suggestion for new jugs but I just haven't seen it.
Maybe we could buff our pets in more active way than just earning Master Levels? Beastmaster has so much nuance to it.

They'd have to add something for other jobs if they did this. And given the insane grind, I'm glad there's no new abilities/etc with the master levels.

Come on, SE. It's time to give us Megamaw Mikey as a Legendary jug pet. Or a Behemoth cub. Usable once per hour. Pet lasts for an hour.

Heck I'd be happy if they just unlocked the Tier 2 merits for people who have achieved Job Master, I mean that's the whole point of being a job master right? (Even if it was the benefit of getting a new tier 2 merit on that job every X amount of master levels

I mentioned this on my alt, maybe they could implement "Catch & Release" for non charmable, normal & NMs. This does not require a rehaul, fix, etc.....just an addition of a job trait. Other jobs were singled out with JAs & Traits, so why not BST?
https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/threads/56209
Anyway......How it works?
Beating a Behemoth or MegaMaw will net BST a chance to catch the monster, adding it to their list of caught monsters. When you release it.....
-Monsters does a skill/spell
-Leaves
-Lose the NM/Monsters from your list.
-Have to catch it again...
-Monsters scale to the level of the BST akin to jugs.
-The Special attacks are stronger than Ready moves
-2 min cooldown (or adjust as needed)
-Catch acts akin to TH; there will be +Catch gear to increase chance of catching a defeated mob.
Perhaps make REMA function in a way, that catch is nearly guaranteed while wielding one due to how much +Catch it has.
As for actual jugs, I feel there are things they can do to take advantage of pet assigned jobs. Such as, introducing more jobs to pets instead of the generic "WAR." Jugs that are casters such as BLM for example........Panopt or Hecteyes.
Also, add more moves to the existing jugs; even the critical hp ones......simply make them only work on normal mobs. They simply miss on NMs.
Coeurl not having Pounce is a crime......I mean come on.......lol.

Such a good idea. Man, this game deserves so much more investment.

I mean i've got ideas for like 20 new jobs, they should invest more because that's such a good idea. :p
The problem with your argument is this "investment" only benefits current players and doesn't make them any more money.

I don't see any problems man. I'm just having fun thinking up new ideas.

Unlocking all Tier 2 / Group 2 merits at ML50 would be really helpful too. Beast Affinity is so unnecessar when they release 119 versions of pet families, as it is.
Do other jobs have anything like that? I don't think SE creates a Black Magic spell for RDMs/BLMs and not be able to adjust it's modifiers. Ridiculous.

No fun allowed. This is a serious game.

They're not going to implement new ideas at this point. We may still get some bits of new content in the future, but BST is not getting any miracle changes. And it's like I said, it can't be tied to master level or they'd have to add stuff to master levels for everyone else too and that means a lot of work which means money needs to be spent, and they're not going to spend money on something that won't bring new players to the game.

Honestly, level increases typically come with small job adjustments. Unfortunately, for Beastmaster, it is often given new jug pets when a piece of content at this new level increase is considered old. (Look at how long it took herald henry to be released, like 3 years after Delve came out? same with the most recent batch of jug pets)
To be fair, Beastmasters should be able to create their own jug pet, by going to an NPC, picking a monster a family, a list of abilities and some stat modifiers. Shoot, we could even feed the jug pet, food ingredients until the jug pet is ready (1-game day wait?).
SE will never have to release new jug pets again, because we could pick from the existing families and adjust stats accordingly. Some folks might say that is getting too close into PUP territory, but it's better than SE adding jug pets randomly (or never).
Matsui also said during the last Forums-based NA questions, that they could remove the level cap on old jug pets ....but instead offered to take our suggestions for new jug pets. To this date, SE has done nothing in this regard. A beefier Fatso jug pet or Generous Arthur would be nice. These pets are at 119. What's an ML50 beastmaster to do at that point?

But I would probably have to agree that if we went back to when beastmaster was designed, it would have been a much better system.

If jug pets are not influenced by master level, than that is something that really needs to be addressed, as all other pets improve with master level.

It's not that bad of a balance nightmare. SE would just have to constrain our stats (attack/def/acc/M.acc/etc) with that of whatever the current or next content is. SE can adjust based on sources of damage, or create new ratios for dINT and pDIF, to account for the existince of configurable pets.

It's more a balance nightmare because of the available TP moves. There's a reason certain kinds of monsters don't show up as BST pets.

During the early JP days, pets like scorpions and malboro were charmable. :( ....but now we can't even have hecteyes? Come on, SE.
