You probably DCed/crashed, and the server hasn't caught up with the sudden loss of your character, resulting in it thinking youre still logged on. Give it a few minutes for it to realize you arent there, and then try again.

i went to sleep after like 30 mins of this and it finally let me on.#

No, game didn't crash. But I have seen on other forums that other people have had the same problem. And personally, I timed out when I tried to log on main earlier today, 2nd try I did get on - this may have had something to do with the fact that there were 750ish people in Port Jeuno. And going by the shouts, this happened to a lot of people trying to log on - timing out on the "downloading data" screen.

Also been experiencing random r0s and general delay in commands all day, in non-busy zones.

k ffxi is having problems lately, i guess the word crash was a bit extreme

Long history of it being ISP problems, it's how the DNS system works or something. So allows you to connect to some websites but not others, if it was FFXI everyone would be experiencing problems.

I've also been having issues with lag in nearly empty zones and r0's. Just started this week, don't know what's causing it.

having same issues and another friend of mine is suddenly having this same issues today, what is happening? its not my ISP, its the game itself, i know that for a fact.

Hurray, I logged to mule and now I can't get back on main, timing out on "downloading data" screen again, PoL error-3001. I'm assuming it's because Port Jeuno is totally congested, SE you really need to put abyssea npcs (warp and traverser stone npcs) in other zones aswell. :(

kind of shocked with all the replays, did not think it was this big issue.

How do you know for a fact?

Was a problem a while ago where comcast/tiscali players were unable to log into/stay logged into FFXI but had no problems with any others sites or games. I can tell you that I've experienced zero problems with FFXI in the last few weeks, if it was a problem with the servers everyone would be getting it or at least there would be a much bigger outcry about it.
