Steps:

1. Received a New Years Eve pouch from the event to which I used for 100,000k. Next day I went to Yorica Weald to kill some monsters and my computer crashed (fully rebooted) during gameplay. I logged back in to see the NYE was in my storage, unsure if I had used it or not, I used it again for 100k and I didn't leave my inventory, so used it again, again obtained 100k and again it didn't leave inventory.

2. Called GM - no response. Called again today asking if it was OK to post this bug on the forum (due to its nature) and the GM said it was the only way to report a bug, so here is the report.

The pouch is still sitting in my storage if anybody wants to examine the data as to what the trigger maybe behind this.

Using your own pouch will show the amount in the pouch. This is probably what you are seeing

I think you nailed it on the head. I checked and no uses of the item seemed to add anything to my gil total.

Yeah, it's as spicy said. Using a pouch you created merely shows you the contents. You can't actually consume it or receive the contents yourself.
