People have been trying to figure it out for quite a while and it would be nice if we got outright told by this point since people have tested everything they could think of to no effect.

You have to be playing Mortal Kombat at the same time. :)

Been tried. people did ALOT of testing to try and figure it out. It's entirely possible the thing was broken the whole time.

10 bucks says we've already tested and found it, but the effect is so low that its unnoticeable.

Weakened or PT member KO'd is my best bet.

My best guess is "Finishing Moves" up from DNC or /DNC.
Finishing Move, Fatality...
My other guess is being "Doomed".

In all likelihood, this is probably the case. =/

Yeah would love to know what the latent is on this belt, since no one has been able to figure it out yet :(

They won't tell you anything. Their policy is to not give out any information and expect everyone to buy their products...

You have to kill a charmed part member, duh! You people can't solve any latents on your own. Good that I'm here to make things up.

Wait, I thought you had to melee as a SMN, or have a melee SMN in your party for the latent to work.

Only activated when Kefka is in your party.

Preferrably using a better weapon than Wind Staff. Get some better gear!

The item name (http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Buffoon%27s_Collar) for that was taken already.
Too bad, so sad.

Fatality Belt is only active when you are wearing it and you are dead. When you get a raise then the latent stops.

Hiding behind a mule so people can't see your gearset as a lolmeleesmn so you can say you have an emp staff?
Then you can say you can do more damage than an Ukon WAR? But since nobody can see your gear to prove you wrong, you can say that they don't know cause they don't know your gearsets?
Besides, who said that I lolmelee as SMN anyway? Only fools melee as SMN. Fools and those who don't have any better jobs.
My best guess is "Finishing Moves" up from DNC or /DNC.
I swear to god if SE was genius enough to create a belt this witty they have won the award for best mmo ever from me. But I doubt it, and I`m pretty sure someone has tested this already.

Hiding behind a mule
The day you prove you are worthy of demanding to know my character name, I'll tell you. Every post sends you the wrong way. Try being a little less "you."
Didn't Mojo test this already and found it's active during 2hr?

Mighty Strikes specifically IIRC.
Which makes sense given Jyeshtha uses Mighty Strikes repeatedly.

Why do we even care about the latent effect on this belt. Its complete garbage and no one who knows about proper gear would even let this drop into their bags. Who cares, throw it away, piece of crap belt.
If the latent is easily activated, this belt is hands down the best belt for using climactic flourish.

its already been noted that its during Mighty Strikes

If the tests are true, the latent only works for one job: WAR. That means that DNC can not benefit from this latent. Sorry.

The latent is activated by first obtaining and then dropping the belt 99 times previously.
I think I'm about halfway there.
Why the hell give a war onry belt to 14 different jobs?
Common sense people. It's not mighty strikes onry, there are many other outlying factors that could have influenced it. Day of the week, strength of the player vs monster, weapon used, etc etc etc.
I refuse to accept a latent is activated on a belt by 1/14 of the jobs that can wear it, and SE made the other 13 jobs shit out of luck.

You act as though some people won't be enticed by DEX+4 Acc+4 alone. We're not talking about the same job that gives H2H weapons to most of the jobs in the game when only 2 use H2H as main weapons, are we?

So I guess that just leaves Foolkiller?
