Add a job ability you can click on with a 1 min timer, to convert Drain spells to give back MP instead (convert HP drained to MP). MP is our main source of damage, we need to keep it up and need to be able to get mp back from monsters that have no MP. Also give a bigger boost to magic accuracy so it's worth using on higher tier monsters.

Add a job ability to greatly increase cast speed of spells and reduce mp cost, that works in a similar fashion to Hasso so you can have it up full time, also add an alt version that greatly increases defence like Seigan. It is no longer acceptable to have such slow cast times when other damage classes can do so much more dmg.

Increase the scythe and staff skill of BLM to A+ and give them some accuracy / haste bonuses, melee needs to be viable. Especially for solo play with trusts.

Allow elemental spells like Burn to have much greater impact on the monsters magic evasion / defence and also that do more damage per tick.

None of these suggestions are important or even useful for BLM, and already exist in the case of elemental debuffs and merits/relic legs/feet and other gear being added over time like Agwu's legs.

These suggestions show a complete unfamiliarity with the job itself.

... wait, there are black mages who don't have effectively infinite MP through reforged artifact body, occult acumen driven myrkr, refresh, and convert?

If you want something that will really benefit how black mages are actually used, try a job ability which affects one spell; if that spell magic bursts, the recast timer for it is reset instantly and the next spell cast benefits from magic burst damage II +20 or so (with a five to ten second window to expire.)

Maybe something that boosts magic critical so it's not absolute garbage would be cool too. Turning magic critical into magic critical II might be a little much, but just plain mcrit is the most worthless thing in the game and yet somehow in 2022 we are seeing it put on blm's super empyrean gear as if it's supposed to be exciting. Job ability that turns mcrit into mcritII for 3 minutes or until a spell critical hits, whichever comes first?

That's MP to MP though. I think the idea is to make Drain work sort of like Magic Hammer, damage to the HP but healing to the MP, maybe able to work on monsters that don't have MP of their own (otherwise, it does become a bit redundant next to three tiers of Aspir.)

To be fair you can just use occult with myrkr or taker to solve mpless targets

Runs into issues if you are against a foe that isn't returning full spell cost with coat and weak nuking OA set or in general such as Gartell if both hands are up, Skomora/Triboulex wiping TP, wanting to get AM2 up, etc.

However, "give us another aspir" from the OP was ridiculous, lol.

I don't know anything about BLM, but how do they keep TP for Myrkr? Do they not swap weapons frequently?

Well, swapping weapons removes TP, so...

I'm asking about playstyle, not mechanics. Do BLMs who use myrkr just never swap weapons, or do they just switch to a occult acumen/myrkr mode when running low?

Pretty much just stay in the same staff. It's not like there's a whole bunch of minmax options to choose from like back when elemental staves were in vogue. Whatever your best magic attack bonus staff is, it's probably also your best magic accuracy one, so really the only tough choice is the 25 magic accuracy on kaja/khonsu grip or the 5 mab on niobid.

Now, if you're doing /nin to double-fist wands instead, that's pretty much taking myrkr off the table entirely. If you pack every possible piece of occult acumen and store TP available to black mage, you can just, just barely hit a build where you can come out ahead on MP that way, but we're talking like spend 800 to get 1000 back; it's not really practical to switch sets to soak up that little bit of recovery.

Add emote to make BLM jump up and down with fireworks, totally fixes basic mechanics...
