Unlike every other Ninja tool in the game, the new universal tools can not be crafted. Rather than having these be NPC sold only, I would like to see these as crafted items that a SINGLE player can craft. I have personally not skilled up synergy due to the requirement of making a party with other players of the appropriate crafting levels.

This is similar to the push to have NIN be a ranged attack job, but selling throwing ammo for 5mil per stack from NPC's. OH! Let's also throw in a suggestion for lower NPC prices... SE is attempting to remove gil from circulation through NPC purchases, but targeting only those players that use the spells and such is one sided.

Items I craft, I craft for personal use. Having to spend nearly 20k for a single stack of tools from the NPC in Bastok gets extremely painful. Yes, I know that there are the old single spell tools that can be crafted at a much lower per stack price. I simply do not have the inventory space for all those tools any longer.

Yeha.. been wondering why they didn't add a recipe for them too. If they DO add a crafting recipe for them (may already be planning it as a target with the new craft increases--ie: may require a sub over 60)--would be nice to lower the NPC price for buying them too. Although, on my server, they are already about on par with the cost of buying the tools they replace (1 each of elemental tools vs. 6 of Ino are within about 4-8k of eachother), so they may not adjust the price though.

If so... Make it a Synergy craft.. No loss of items:

I'd guess the reason is that it would be completely unfair to all the other crafts if it was made by a single craft. Say if Clothcraft gets the synth, and it's decently priced. Clothcrafters will be mass producing it, driving the price down, which seems good, except it undermines a lot of the market for the other tools, which are also only one craft. The only people buying those tools will be people doing /nin procs.

It's only responsible and smart for them to devise ways to remove gil from circulation... and that's exactly what these are... People have inventory problems... aside from storage npcs, these new tools are an attractive, however entirely unnecessary, way to free up some inventory slots... so long as mobs drop gil there has to be a way to remove that gil from circulation or inflation will become out of control (again...)

If you do the math... there's how many ninja spells? 17 not counting repeats? On average it costs what per 99 tools? 10k? To have a stack of tools for each spell would cost 170k? And that's being very generous and not counting the massive prices for some of the newer tools. It's probably like more 300k+. And it's what? Tops 60k for the three stacks of universal ninja tools? That covers all ninja spells for ninja main?

Here's the real deal data. Just looked. Right now on my server it costs 356,000 gil to buy a stack of every ninja tool via the AH. 17 stacks total. 356k. If I were to buy 17 stacks of universal tools, heck, make it an even 18.. 6 stacks per tool... it would come out to 360,000 gil. If you ask me, it's pretty much right in line with other tool costs and saves you a ton of space. Lastly, it's cheaper than 20k a pop at the NPC by a considerable amount. Enough to warrant the trip to Bastok. So... yeah.

Even if you crafted most of your tools and only bought these here for the newer spells out, you would still save a ton of money. So instead of paying 120k for migi tools or just 20k for migi universal tool that for some reason hasn't killed off the migi tool market, you're wanting them to be even cheaper. And you're already making out like a bandit thanks to the universal tools. I guess it's all server based prices in the end but really I can't believe your server is much different from the others. Prices will vary but the outcome is probably the same - 17 stacks of tools and 17 stacks of universal tools come out to about the same cost, and ninjas get 13 slots saved, assuming they will use at least shihei still.

And don't get me wrong, I'm not against cheaper uni tools. I don't make money off of ninja tools even though I can 51 tier most of it. I would certainly appreciate it as a ninja but I felt it best that you understand what you are asking and others before you. You guys and girls seem to think universal prices are a rip off when they really aren't whatsoever. I suppose it sucks for the ninja who can HQ their own tools but hey, come on, sell your HQ'd tools and buy the universal. Problem solved. I'm guessing the reason you buy these tools at a NPC is to ensure a crafted version didn't totally destroy the tool market like it most definitely would just as soon as the need for it for Abyssea by /nin died down in due time.
